Kids these days don't have imagination. 480i beheadings always got better ratings and Oscars because they had one thing the HD guys couldn't replicate: they made you use your imagination.

With 480i you can't see every little strand of guts sliding down to the ground. You have to use your imagination to make out the body parts. You don't take a high-def lower intestine for granted, because you just can't tell what it is at that resolution.

I heard this quote once from Coppola: "With 480i you're just more 'there' than with 1080p. The guts are real, the grossness is visceral, because you've gotta imagine the little details. That's how I've achieved such success. This connection with the audience."
