11/10 would let ducks practise dentistry again
Dwarf Fortress is a game that allows you to create stories. It has a huge number of vast and complex systems running altogether to make everything happen, I find my enjoyment of the game can be amplified when I take the time to dig a little deeper into what is happening onscreen, observing the interesting and often unexpected ways these systems interact with each other.

An example of an event from my first fortress, there are 2 ways to see what happened.
1. An Ettin attacked my fortress killed a couple of dwarfs but finally got taken down by the Militia.
Or
2. A dwarf fresh from the joys of giving birth to her daughter decided to take the infant out with her fruit gathering. An Ettin came crashing through the forest, she ran and shouted to alert the rest of the fruit pickers who, with all pace ran from the towering monster back home. The new mother was too slow and weighed down with her baby was caught just before making it to the safety of the mines. The ettin smashed her body in its mighty fists causing her to drop the newborn. The ettin snatched up this tasty morsel and bit the babies head off, spitting it out and the into oncoming dwarf soldier. Enraged by such a heinous act the Captain of the Militia who had been mobilised to deal with the threat charged before any of his squad were in position to support him. After a short duel the Ettin crushed the Captains legs making him unable to dodge anymore, the Ettin raised both hands preparing to end the Captain, then just before the killing blow the captains pet duck flew into he Ettins face caused it to stumble back. Seeing his master in moral danger the duck latched onto the Ettin's back teeth and held on firmly, allowing his master to hack away at the Ettin's legs causing it to lose the ability to stand and buying time of the rest of the squad (who had all conveniently run off to get a bit of missing equipment or whatever excuse before finally joining the battle.) With their combined strength the Militia killed the Ettin without further loss. The Captain was taken to the hospital and eventually healed, the Squad was remained the "Mighty Ducks" and all the dwarf casualties where given proper resting places in the caverns below.
Both of these are true, the 2nd storey came from going through the logs and looking at who was fighting and what was happening.
There are some minor interface and quality of life improvements that need to be made and judging from the Devs reputation they will be. Avian dentistry saved a life.
