I'd personally not recommend this one.

For most of the game you are extremely underpowered to the point of being probably the worst slugcat in the game as the main gimmick of the slugcat doesn't properly function for most enemies the game gives you, and only after maybe 5-20 hours, depending on how long you're lost for (likely very long), will you actually be able to progress at a speed that is acceptable, though only if you don't die and immediately lose this power until you shelter again.

The new areas are very inconsistent with the amount of food given to you, with some areas requiring you to go through multiple extremely large rooms with no food yet plenty shelters, this combined with the inability to eat defeated enemies makes sheltering in some areas practically impossible if you didn't bring food with you from another area, while some areas give you so much food you could shelter in the same shelter without moving more than 1 room away as many times as you want, as by the time you run out of one food, another infinite source of food respawns and then you can just keep going.

Honestly the easiest way to make the dlc much more enjoyable would be to just, allow watcher to eat defeated enemies, as the inconsistency in how easily you can shelter from area to area is so terrible, that I don't think I ever visited some shelters just due to how the closest food to those shelters were in an entirely different region.

Another fix would be to honestly dial down the amount of lizard spawns, looking at the maps supplied by the community, some regions are nearly exclusively lizards with most rooms having 1-3 lizard dens, this wouldn't be nearly as bad if it wasn't for the fact that Watcher's main ability does not work that well against lizards, every other enemy it works excellently against, but lizards tend to be able to still track you perfectly no matter where you initiated the ability.

Even after 5 hours straight up I'm pretty sure I'm still only scratching the surface in terms of how long this game is, I've only unlocked 1 achievement so far and the Chronicles mode seems have over a hundred stages with the amount of branching paths and endings. Not to mention the two more difficulties I'm yet to even try in the arcade mode.
Really good for beginners too, I would 100% recommend this for anyone wanting to dip their toes into the shmup genre, as long as you get past the very overwhelming sounds and visual design that is.

It's like, alright but has so so so many questionable decisions, especially when it comes to enemy scaling and all of the colossal weapon category.
The in-game map a lot of the time makes no sense lol, comparing irl maps to it, it has a lot of mistakes and makes reading for directions near useless
Edit: after enough gameplay, yeah nah it just keeps becoming worse

It's good but that final boss is genuinely more unfair than anything I've seen in other shmups lmao

it deleted my save file entirely
