What we have here is a Solid Foundation. Palworld is Good and has the potential to grow and build up to something truly great. The game pulled me in and has become a big time sink in the past few days. It reminds me of the phrase “Just one more turn” for 4X games like Civ and AoW because there is always just one more Pal, just one more thing to craft, just one more dungeon, etc. It has its problems and issues but it’s Early Access so I’m patient but even though Palword is e.a I like what I see so far.

The Pals remind me of early Gen 1 Pokemon and as someone who’s been into Pokemon since day 1 back in the 90’s the Pal designs, animations and even sounds are simplistic and put me back into those good Gen 1 days and I love it. The Pal Cremis has entered my life and I will fight and protect that little fluffy bastard, if I a dino friend it would look like Broncherry, I have a base FULL Of Vixy running around, wagging and digging up stuff (TOO Much stuff) and although he's not the best dragon/flying mount I love the look of Quivern and is in my party always. The game truly enters a nice stride when you capture a flying Pal and unlock the ability to mount up and fly. I was truly shocked how big the map can be and every new valley, island, beach or peak was exciting because I was curious what weird Pal I was going to find. Until of course you cross into an odd area and see Wild Pals 2 dozen levels higher than yours.

On the subject of Pals the Pal Sphere's come in the usual flavors of higher and higher capture rates but I feel after level 30 it gets really tough even with the higher tier sphere's to capture A wild Pal with barely any HP left. It may take 3 or more attempts to capture even with Hyper sphere’s and this is with a few levels of upgrading my capture chances using the Lifmunk Effigies. Thankfully the capture rate (If I understand the settings correctly) can be adjusted up slightly but I think the setting needs an extra buff for those that want a more Explore and Capture chill session. The setting options are refreshing and I can turn Palworld into a stress filled hardcore wild survival scenario or a more relaxed and easier going experience at will without starting all over.

It took me longer than I care to admit but besides a few boss areas and dungeons you can build anywhere. The Palbox’s are good bases and fast travel points but there is nothing stopping you from building little outposts with crafting and storage anywhere. Wood burning is no joke, upgrade your bases to stone or better asap especially if you’re in an area with flocks of Tocotoco’s or those Beeguards, if you know, you know.

The Palbox could use better or faster organization. I still don’t know why some Pal’s always end up on the roof hungry in my base. The NPC/Settlements could use a bit more life and I can go on with the usual issues and errors I found. But I’m still playing and having fun with the game despite it all so that means something. Palworld in these early stages gave me small enjoyable moments like flying on my dragon mount to a high peak, running a dungeon with my Fox Pal Witch watching my back or shooting Syndicate goons from the air while hanging to my Eagle Pal. I’ve always wanted stuff like this in similar animal capture collecting games and Palworld got pretty close to what I envisioned. I hope the dev’s keep going, keep adding content, keep updating and I wish them all the success. The foundation is great and I can’t wait to see what they intend to build on it.

Stellaris in my opinion is another great example why Steam needs a "Grey area, 3rd option, not great but not terrible" recommendation option. I'm giving it a thumbs up for past memories and good experiences but my request or desire for a 3rd option is strictly based around how much the game changes and recent mod issues I've had.

This game is a good game turned phenomenal with the massive amount of mod support it has. The modding community is top tier with some of the greatest creators, writers, artist and more offering a large amount of content to turn this game into the space game of your dreams. I mod my game heavily and going back to a non-modded experience is just too far gone of an option for me. Additionally I'm very well accustomed to the process when a new update, patch or DLC releases I play the "Which mod is breaking my game" game, stopping and checking mods on and off to find the bad one. I've let go of a lot of mods, I found work arounds for some but recently I've hit my limit on how much more I am going to take.

After purchasing the Overlord and First Contact DLC (waited for that sale, one negative I'll say is some of the prices are insane for small bits of content) or maybe this was because of the recent Astral Planes DLC I found out I couldn't recruit leaders at all in any of my new games which was very odd because I'm not running any mod related to the leader system. In the middle of the usual process to find the broken mod I stopped and just said, "I'm done." Maybe I'm getting older, maybe I'm just too tired for this "find the broken mod" game but I think I'm done with Stellaris for now. Maybe I'll come back in a few years when the updates finally stop and the game is stable.

I know 100% it's my fault and I don't NEED mods to run the game but I'm just offering my story as a LONG Long time player. One day I might return when they stop changing the game and the DLC is much cheaper.

A game that scratches that PvE itch and scratches it well Gunfire Reborn takes me back to those days at GameStop when you picked up a game based on the box art alone from some unknown or small Double A developer. Sometimes you got a bad game, sometimes you got a good game, sometimes you got a game that will stick with you for a while like Gunfire Reborn.

A fun shooter that has lots to offer, I enjoy the variety in the little animal heroes you can play as even though some seem little more powerful than others. But when you join a co-op game with everyone playing a different character there is a nice mixture of what everyone can bring to the table. Game wish to the devs: a Lizard or Dragon character please!? XD. But speaking of variety the weapons and ability power ups or Scrolls you pick up has a great deal of flexibility. There are some weapons I see on the ground that makes me run for them and other weapons that are quirky and can be useful in certain levels or maps. Sometimes in late game you can forget what scrolls you have and how they stack with others but it's a minor nitpick; I've never reached late game and thought a scroll or a weapon was holding me back or prevented me from enjoying the game.

That's a good word to end this review, Enjoyable. I have fun playing this game and I look forward to each run, victory or failure. The little animal characters and the fact it feels like a good ol' fashioned "comp-stomp" are a plus since some games lack PvE these days. So any devs read this, Thanks for this gem and keep up all the support please. You got a player for life with this one.
