Malt Liquor, Passion, and Skate
From streets to taste, pursuing mastery, expression, and the subtle pleasures of life, embracing movement, creativity, and the culture that shapes who I am. Every element of my passions reflects a balance between skill and reflection, between action and contemplation, where craft and culture converge.

Skating has always been more than a sport to me; it is a culture of freedom, creativity, and self-expression. Figures such as Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, and Bam Margera embody the daring spirit I admire, while games such as Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 (2004) capture the joy, skill, and community inherent in skateboarding’s history. The skateboard itself is a canvas and a tool, with its deck artwork, grip tape, wheels, and trucks all contributing to the experience and transforming subtle movements into fluid motion. Skating is a philosophy of motion, falling and rising, experimenting and expressing, cultivating resilience, discipline, and individuality.

Malt liquor serves as a complement to this philosophy, embodying simplicity, authenticity, and a measured enjoyment of life. Labels such as Olde English 800 (1964), Mickey’s Ice 800 (1991), Jaguar High Gravity Lager (1990s), King Cobra (1984), and High Gravity 800 (early 2000s) offer moments of reflection and appreciation, celebrating the unpretentious pleasures that anchor the experience of movement and culture. I am also intrigued by kvass, the traditional Russian beverage, and look forward to exploring its distinct flavor, adding new perspectives to my understanding of taste, ritual, and enjoyment.

Together, skateboarding and malt liquor embody a deliberate way of engaging with life, balancing motion and reflection, craftsmanship and creativity, action and appreciation, form and meaning.
