R3E's Free-to-Play model with numerous DLC tracks and vehicles to purchase is great way to ease into sim-racing.

While there isn't a progression system for vehicle or track acquisition, the game allows you to test drive each vehicle once before you decide whether or not to purchase it. The paid DLC structure allows you to commit to a specific car or class of your choosing and hone in on tuning, learning racecraft, and limits buyers remorse. This monetary investment is a one-time progression system in itself.

Physics are fantastic with true-to-life tire models and drivetrain characteristics; amazing FFB and gearbox haptics complimented by engine and transmission audio that bests other sim titles in the market.

The online community is smaller than other titles, but dedicated. The dev team constantly strive to promote engagement with various competitions and challenges, even offering in game currency rewards if you perform well in these events.

No mods needed - KW have done a fantastic job with the game engine and audio to bring real circuit racing to your home monitors.
