Great game with an insane art style!
As a prologue, it obviously isn't a complete experience yet, and the upcoming main game—hopefully releasing at some point—will need some revision, unlike the prologue.
Overall, it’s worth giving it a try if you enjoy retro racers.
(Also, I've never seen such a smooth and natural button combination für shifting!)

I think Sohei is quite alright.

If you play him in 1v1 or a honorable 2v2 he can unfold his full potential, even tho you won't always use the Seven-Force Strike here, because you aren't really able to get to full Soul Charge (exept your enemy doesn't really counter guardbreak, or you "spam" guardbreak, so you can use Mountain Thunder/Crusher quite often).

In breach (or dominion aswell to some extend) he is garbage in my opinion. This is mainly caused by getting interrupted when trying to collect souls via the Mountain Thunder or Crusher or even worse getting interrupted while using the Seven-Force Strike. In this case all your souls are gone and you didn't do any damage.
In addition to that he is not really good at killing minions. Even tho his heavy opener has a pretty wide angle of attack the second heavy in the chain basically never hits more than one minion at a time and on top of this comes the "slowness" of the heavy attacks, which make it feel forever to kill minions.

So if you plan on buying this DLC, or the character in game with steel, don't expect to run through uncountable breach or dominion maches for leveling, because you just wont really feel satisfied and its quite frustrating.
As I previously said, he's best played in 1v1 or 2v2 (maybe even 4v4? didn't try that myself), because here he can't be interrupted by minions or stray heroes running around.

In general I think his heavy attacks are exeptionally slow and dont have enough damage for that, but his lights in combination with the soul collecting feature are stronger that the average light attack.
Against the opinion of many people i think the "One hit Attack" Seven-Force Strike is not overpowered, because the setup is not that easy to do in most game modes and the enemy can still dodge the bash right before the attack itself (the bash must connect with the enemy, otherwise you can't perform the attack). But if you complete the setup and hit the enemy with the bash which initiates the Seven-Force Strike you get rewarded with 95 damage.

In the end its your decision if you wanna buy him or not, but despite all the critisism he really is fun to play.
