Ok lets get some things out of the way, quickly. The port isn't great. Is it automata bad? No. But it's not the best it can be. That being said its really easy to fix. Just look at the guide in the guides, follow it, and you'll have no problems. What is wrong with the port?
1. The games physics break at over 60. and theres no way to cap the framerate without external means or special k.
2. The mouse stays on screen. Use special k.
3. Dualshock reportedly doesn't work. Use special k.

All of this being said, is the game worth all this? Yes. If you're a fan of Nier, you've already bought it. Nier is a special, interesting blend of gameplay styles, from bullet hell to hack n slash. The story is spectacular, I will not get into it. The gameplay here is much improved from the offerings in the og. Fishing is alot easier, blocking is more responsive, and Brother Nier is just fun to control.

I've beaten this game twice, and both times it was a great experience. The ghosts don't stop being threatening entities, which for a horror game is good. The combat is a little wonky, it's basically fatal frame and fatal frame isn't exactly known for its fantastic combat, though I do wish there was some form of ammo mechanic to balance it out a bit. The combat gets about a B

This is an Indonesian horror game, which is another plus. You don't see this folklore touched upon in games much if at all. As someone interested in local ghost stories of different cultures, it really scratched an itch. It even has descriptions and the original story for each ghost you encounter. It's very effective at building its world. This gets an A+.

The story is pretty barebones. You play as Linda, a mute high school student who is on a field trip when the teacher has to stop the bus because there's a giant chasm in the road. You end up going into the town across the chasm, it's seemingly abandoned. If you look around here you can find some ghosts, which gives you small pieces of the bigger puzzle of what happened to the town, if the town is even in the "Real world", and how you got here. You end up entering the school with your teacher and friends, only to get separated. You have to look for your friends and get out of the town. That's pretty much the basic premise. It gets about a B+. It has some intrigue and gets you into the story effectively.

overall, this game gets an A, with a point knocked off for the combat. The story while basic is good, and the ghosts are scary. If you like this game and have a vr headset, get dread eye as well. It has some more lore and more jumpscares. Dreadout is a good game.

A solid, easy to learn, difficult to master fighting game with an amazing soundtrack which includes selections from Hideki Naganuma, the composer of jet set radio, with graphics and gameplay just as stylish and fun.

Why haven't you bought this yet?

Really liked the part with the tiger! And that sick chase at the end!

So...alot of negative reviews on this game as of late...
I'm not here to change minds, I think abes oddysee is superior, but this game is easy to reccomend to both fans of the original (Which i own on disk) and new fans.
So I'll tell you what I think the game does well, and what it does poorly.
What it does well:
When you fix the controls (setting them back to classic) the game is essentially oddworld with a fresh coat of paint. Brutally difficult and very unforgiving. This game punishes mistakes with a vengeance and will frustrate you. Much like the original game. The new art style is nice, in its own way but it has negatives that I'll get too in a second. Everything is striking to the eyes. The music is pretty good too, because its all remixes of the original ost...
but now for the negatives:
Bloom. BLOOM EVERYWHERE. This is just really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ distracting from the oppressive atmosphere. Everything has a bloom point. Nowhere is ever subdued in terms of lighting theres so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bloom. And the artstyle, while good, is so clean it makes rupture farms not look like the dirty, disgusting place it should be. There's barely any blood anywhere. Everything is immaculate.
And mudokons. These little bastards NEVER shut up. EVER. Seriously you will get so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoyed at the things you're supposed to be saving. Not to mention sometimes explosions dont have sound.

I really REALLY liked this version of abe's oddysee, and yeah I reccomend it, but keep in mind that this is NOT a replacement for the original and probably never WILL be.

this game is legitimately addictive. Bassically you're a freshman at a magic school and you have to learn spells, make friends, and get a date for the big dance.

This is one of the best games of this generation.
you play as garfield on a quest for revenge against that piece of ♥♥♥♥ jon arbuckle because he took your lasaga.

Ok I'm going to start by saying I have NOT 100 percented this game. That will take a very long time. But just look at how many hours I've played. I like this game alot and I'm going to talk about why.
The positives:

The gameplay: This is probably some of the best gameplay in a metal gear game. I could gush over how smooth it is for days. The ai dynamically shifts to everything you do, making it harder to do the same things twice in a row.

The story: Good cast of characters. They feel very human very cool. Troy baker plays a perfect ocelot, getting his inflection and tone just right. While yeah, snakes new voice takes getting used to, you can't deny Sutherlands greatness in this. Though flat, he portrays snakes emotional distance perfectly. I can't talk about robin atkin downes without getting into spoiler territory.

The soundtrack: The soundtrack fits the mood of this game so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well. It ramps up quickly with the tension. I had my heart pounding in some sections from the soundtrack alone.

The negative:
SPOILER WARNING!: a very important mission was cut form the game. It's really upsetting and I hope konami finds a way to put it in as it is super important.
