Really unique and fun game, level 4 ghosts of lotus city will haunt me forever

this is a game like GTFO where you really should be playing it with friends, not randoms
it really requires communication and its a great time!

Good arpg, kinda unbalanced but its a good time and doesn't overstay its welcome. Incredible work for a game made by 2 people

There's another year of support coming, thats unexpected. This game is very overhated. If you don't have people screaming "NFS UNBOUND SUCKS" in your ear you'll have a good time. Especially the multiplayer - linkups are super fun!

Recommend picking this up on sale.

Update - they've got one crazy overworked dev working on new handling updates and overall the new handling for cars added post Vol 6 + all cars with drift pro tires are actually fun to drive. We've got drag events back and they even have the cute lane switching mechanic from the black box games. Cars dont have the same issues they did with curbs at launch.
However, bafflingly some of this stuff is limited to multiplayer. (drag, drift pro tires)

Wish the company would focus even harder on fixing this game up into something fantastic but nOooOoOo we gotta divert everyone to the next Battlefield that will totally be successful and not a flop like the last two. EA is so mismanaged!

Very immersive, experimental and addicting game. You can put trans flags on your modified station wagon and get quirked up while exploring a deeply atmospheric world!

Pros -

Its a UNIQUE new driving game where youre not just driving a rich person car on a track. This game is its own thing. What other game do you drive your station wagon through an anomalous alt-history apocalypse zone?

Atmosphere is heavy and unique

Dualsense controller support is some of the best Ive felt in any game period

Driving physics really make you feel like youre driving a clunky old station wagon

Plotting your course through the games levels requires some fun strategy

Most gameplay settings can be adjusted

Game is polished, I have yet to come across a bug that stops me from playing the game.



Cons -

Big use of procgen and a lot of buildings repeat. Youre often getting in and out of your car constantly, which hurts the flow between the game's driving or scavenging sections. Maybe thats just me. Id rather explore one big detailed building than a bunch of copy paste ones.

Not being able to save in the middle of a run is brutal. Too brutal. Not even souls games do this, like, if you quit in elden ring and start it up again youll be exactly where you left off.

Progression can feel a bit clunky and aimless.



Overall theres a really unique game here and honestly in the genre of fix-up-a-janky-car games, its one of the best. The devs clearly put their heart into this game. I heavily recommend giving the game a try and if something annoys you, check the gameplay settings!

Maybe Ill write a bigger review later but the game is playable now and its hella fun so Im just changing this back to positive!

800+ hours on battle.net. Had this game since launch, its come a long way. Some of the absolute best shooting youll find in any shooter, story of the last two expansions are truly great and the lore is excellent. Graphics and music are excellent. Eververse MTX is less scummier than it was at launch but theres still gripes to be had with it. Game is good.
