I only play these games for the career mode, so this review will be based on that, primarily.

It is by far the weakest and worst Career in recent memory. The story was incredibly dull, and I felt like I couldn't actually play what I wanted, but rather, what the game forced on me.

-- Career mode spoilers ahead --
I spent a lot of time creating my character for Career mode, as many people do. The game gives you the option to have a Male career or Female career at the beginning. I choose Male, because I wanted to play as a Male. So, it was quite frustrating that after only a couple of matches, the game forces you to create another CAF, a female one, and then forces you to play as her for a while.

After finally getting through the forced female sidekick part of the Career mode and being excited to get back to playing the CAF that I actually WANTED to play, the game then forced me to play as Drew McIntyre for a while, and after getting through that, oh great, the game is now making me play as Charlotte Flair.

After getting through this, you're now basically doing tag matches etc with your CAF female, until she betrays you (wOw sO ePiC) and then you have to fight her at Wrestlemania (lol). And that's it. Career mode is over.

No immersion, no fun, no entertaining story (really? NXT bum mutiny? who cares?)


The rest of the game is, as always, exactly the same as the previous releases. With the exception of this one having a slightly updated backstage area.

If you have 2k22, 2k23 or 2k24, there is no reason to buy this game.

Just play Fight Night

After initially enjoying this game, the more I got into it and the better I became, the more I realised it was just a less good Fight Night. It's plays like FN, and even has the exact same button layout as FN. It's just missing a lot of things that FN has, like replays, knockdowns that aren't completely robotic, and soul.

After playing 8 hours, I found myself digging through the attic looking for my PS3 so I could play Fight Night, and that is exactly what I did.

It's impossible not to compare it to Fight Night. It does have potential to be good, but it needs to have everything FN has AND MORE, not to struggle to keep up with games from 2 gens ago. I'll come back and try it again when it's finished but for now FN is so much better.
