Seriously? Cubas GDP has grown annually by an average rate of 4.74% since 1994. In the years from the capitalist crisis until now (2008-12) it has grown by an avg of 3.6%-compare this to imperialist Britain, where it has 'grown' by an avg of... -4.4%. Unlike in the imperialist countries Cubas growth was not sustained by plundering the world & squeezing the working class. Even in the worst years following the destruction of the USSR,where 35% of GDP and 80% of trade was lost practically overnight-it didnt shut down 1 hospital or old persons home, nobody starved, nobody was made homeless. All in context of a 53yr blockade implemented by the US which cost Cuba over $236bn by Jan 2011. Its healthcare is universally understood as 1 of the best in the world-it sends more Drs overseas than the entire WHO. It has economic issues to resolve but these would not even exist if not 4 the blockade & it is already working on them. To argue that it is stagnant is completely ridiculous by any measure.
