This game was.... (emphasis on was) super enjoyable and fun to play with my mate for a long time and we were having a blast.

However just tonight we encountered every F**** issue possible.

Whatever they did in the latest few updates broke our entire game.

First my mate randomly after an hour of playing had his character get reset to level 1, and all his equipment was still with him just his level and no souls.

On top of this i later found out that our/my progress was also reset back to a point super early in the game so we only have a few teleports again so all that progression is gone.

Idk how they can call this 2.5 Launch if there are still features that are this blatantly problematic. I did honestly want to finish this game despite the flaws but i think im quitting for good now for all that progression loss.

Look does the game have flaws? Yes its got bugs, its not as fun solo and the enemies are really hard XD

But... Is it a blast to play with friends and just have a stupid weird time delivering pizza?

Yes... yes it is...

The game has its moments but it is one of the most fun co op horror games ive had in a while. Just need to tweak ai and difficulty a bit so we can get past 2 stars haha

Italian Review

Is it Authentic?
- Most of the time it is, from the environment, to the food and the culture. It most definitely felt like 1900 sicily. I would say the only non authentic thing is the xray vision. I found it helpful but it does break immersion XD.

Is the story good?
- personally for me i believe the story was good... Simple but good, i do admit i am a bit biased because of my background and culture but i feel like the essence of what it was like back that did have allot more simplicity with underlying complexity. The games story of love and loss really does sell, though i do feel like it could have been a bit longer finishing up at 10 hours roughly.

Is the gameplay good?
- Yes i believe the combat felt quite smooth and the knife combat was also really enjoyable, i would say the only parts that were sometimes frustrating were the stealth moments, some felt good however there was a few where i felt robbed. Driving is also another weird one, it feels good when your driving at an average pace for scenic events which felt amazing. However during race moments it felt really drifty and a little overkill on the speed.

Is the game worth it?
- I will be biased here but i personally believe the game is worth the experience and story, while it does have a couple short comings i know strongly that the game feels like a solid experience.

There are no words i could say to express how brilliant this game is...

From the foundation of the mechanics to the music and story, i was hooked and interested in every secret and story fragment i could find. This isnt just a journey through a spooky game, but a story about a man trying to rebuild his broken self and have the confidence to stand up. You really are trying to become in sound mind.

10/10 would reccomend this to anyone just for the experience alone.

I will now sit in my chair just finishing this, and contemplate life... depressed that there is no more to play, and yet there is so much i have both lost and gained...

To Cut it short

Atmosphere and story elements are Amazing, really gets you into the vibe of the game and its world

Gameplay..... not so much, controls feel horrible to use, combat really needs to be fleshed out and monsters at least some feel ripped from other games, such as the spiders compared to mimics from prey

I cant give it a positive rating until they look at the gameplay as a whole but i doubt this will happen. Maybe give it a chance on sale

I loved this game...... but the fact the company decided to stop development and not communicate with its player base about it nor see if their community would support them is just disappointing. This game had a lot of potential and now it falls flat to poor communication and terrible planning by the devs. Shame

Look the game is simple in almost every way similar to its previous titles

However sometimes no added complexity is a good thing, while this game doesn't do anything crazy or complicated it exceeds what it already has to a polished point of perfection. Customisation feels rewarding and so does exploration due to blueprints and special weapons being tied to quests or collectables and build variety is quite simple but unique enough for players to create their own playstyle around their favourite slayer.

The story itself is pretty basic but for what it is i found it to be quite enjoyable, the side quests while sometimes grindy had some pretty good rewards and i was even more engaged with some of the stories then the main quest.

DLC wise unless your a major fan of dead island games i would say its mostly just more of the same, personally i found them visually unique and enjoyable to play through however they are quite short.

Overall a really big upgrade personally to me compared to riptide so i do hope that they continue the saga and we hopefully get to explore more locations within the world of dead island in a new game. 8/10.

I had higher then the recommended specs to run the game and assumed i could stream it while even on medium settings but apparently that wasn't the case. I have seen enough videos and other gameplay footage online to personally just not wish to buy or play this but i might consider it in the future on a heavy discount. But as it is currently i just dont feel its worth $90.

Space Marine 2 is what i would say a nice Gateway into the Warhammer 40K universe

Graphics - 9/10 ( campaign stands out, co op missions less so )
Overall Score - 9/10 ( i believe the game has a ton of potential which will just depend on the longevity of the game )

Longer ish Review
As someone who doesn't know too much about the world or lore but has been curious this game felt like a perfect fit to slowly grab my attention and pull me into its unique world. I grabbed my other two mates and played the campaign in full Co-op and had an absolute blast.

Currently we have only played on the 2nd difficulty ( standard ) and that felt like an ok casual challenge, but i could imagine the difficulty will pick up quite a bit later on. I will say in terms of replayability for campaign there isnt much incentive besides personal satisfaction for completing the campaign on other difficulties however Co-op missions have a decent amount of replayability so far due to multiple classes and leveling.

My last point will be based on the Solo and Co-op experience. Co-op has been a blast playing with my mates has been very enjoyable and we all have roles that suit our playstyles, however i will say a few of my public lobby experiences have been mixed. Solo however has been a bit of a journey, within the campaign it was not too bad with a decent difficulty here and there however in the co op operations it has proven to be quite a challenge on some missions to play solo. The game is quite new so i expect things to change over time so i am excited to see where things lead.

Although at the moment it is a short experience i can clearly see the time and effort that the developers have put into this well crafting horror experience. It's not trying to be overwhelmingly scary or disturbing, and although it has its creepy or jumpscare moments its true shine is its sense of identity.

It very well knows what kind of game it wants to be and the story telling and characters sell the game out of the ballpark.
