1) You must install the MGSM2Fix.
2) You really should use a better controller layout than the default.

With those in place, this version easily becomes the definitive way to play these games.

Campaign:
Lets just pretend that the series ended at 3 and that 4/5/Infinite's campaigns didn't happen. 343 never cared about the plot and neither should you. Don't pay full price for the campaign if you do decide to play it. It is and never was worth the full $60.

MP:
Come for the best gameplay since reach, stay for the forge nonsense.
