What do idle servers have to do with anything? You're comparing a comm server explicitly designed for idling, wherein players must go out of their way to find & connect to them, to an official server with an actual objective. And why does a mode have to be competitive in order to try? Trying ≠ being pro. My issue was that he intentionally sabotaged his team, not that he performed poorly. If he died immediately at round start, but tried, that'd be fine. Not every round goes great for anyone. Yeah theoretically I could have performed better but I actually tried. He did not. The onus is not on me or any of the players who did try. Besides, are you really going to pretend that you've never had bad runs?

If all you take out of this is that I'm trying to pin the loss on someone then you're plugging your ears. The issue is not simply that we lost, it's that we had a saboteur on the team. Even if we'd won, I'd still try to kick him. And I've had many wins vs good Hales when everyone tries.

LOL "outright easily cheese" him? How many matches of VSH have you honestly played? A stomp vs an inexperienced Hale is gonna happen regardless, but a good Hale is very difficult to conquer unless everyone is trying and has above average skill. That Hale was decent, nothing special or terrible. So it was entirely winnable given that player not doing what he did. People like you encourage and reward this anti-team behavior. It's about more than this singular player; while people like him are frustrating, it's ultimately people like yourself that perpetuate it. They'd be outliers otherwise. Acting as though cheesing Hale is easy because of 1 more player being alive is just outright dishonest and was never even the topic.

I'll end it with this, if you think one or two people being afk is the end of the world in VSH then ya got a bad team that can't work together. It is called team fortress and if most of the team can't even work together what is one or two more players gonna do. Suddenly get everyone to coordinate together and win the game. I think that's called a pipe dream.

Also if ya like pinning losses on people ask why didn't you do more work. 500 as you claim thus why didn't you get it while you were alive. Know whats really hurtful, actively trying to abuse a vote system to kick active legitimate players then act like you did nothing wrong.

At the time of this last player being alive, Saxton had less than 500 hp. Far less than 'half his life' as you falsely claim. An amount which was solely contributed by his presence in the match, due to Saxtons HP being based off the amount of players at the round start. So yes, this AFK player was actively impeding and solely responsible for the loss of the round, throwing the effort of every other player attempting to play the objective into the ground merely because he didn't want to try.


Last thing. I would like to know why, to you, the objective only matters in certain modes vs others? Honestly, VSH is one mode where being AFK or friendly has a dramatic effect on the outcome of the match, as even a handful of players can make the possibility of a win effectively impossible due to the aforementioned reasons. But you don't care about that, do you?

I didn't kick someone for playing the game. I wanted to kick that player for NOT playing the game, as he sat AFK in spawn the entire round until he was last alive; increasing Saxtons health pool & simultaneously refusing to even attempt to contribute damage. But that information doesn't fit with your narrative. To argue that's a playstyle is ignorant at best and actively harmful to the gamemode at worst. Also I never claimed that anyone was forced to play 'my way'? Unless by my way you mean actually attempting to play earnestly and not screwing your team over? There's a cut and dry distinction between playing an alternate playstyle (e.g. battle Medic) v.s. not even attempting to play, but arguing otherwise because it's amusing to you.
