Builds upon everything great from the first game.

This game is just one repetitive slog. You go through 31 linear levels just shooting the same enemies over and over again with very little strategy to combat. You just hold down the trigger and fire while you move from one point to another casting your special abilities when your meter fills up. After the first level, you've seen everything this game has to offer.

A fantastic 3D platformer that still remains the charm of the original. Highly recommended for anybody who likes the genre. What separates this game from others in the genre is its brilliant cast of characters that are very well written.

The only average aspect of the game is the combat, but the game is easy enough that you can look past it.

Genre: 2D Platformer

This is a very well made and challenging platformer. Every area features a different type of 'portal' that introduces a new mechanic that keeps gameplay engaging and fun. The main game is well designed and will provide a moderate level of challenge. The side content is more challenging for those looking to push themselves further. Highly recommended for fans of the genre.

This a fun casual platformer. Every level there are a few things to collect before moving on to the next. Each level is varied enough to keep things interesting while gaining some new abilities along the way.
It is very short, giving you about 3-5 hours of gameplay.

Genre: Point & Click Adventure

THE GOOD:
This is a beautiful story telling the tale between the past and present as you unfold the mystery as it slowly unravels. You visit multiple locations that are well detailed and visually breath taking. The puzzles are not terribly difficult, you can solve most them somewhat easily. You do not need to play the other games in the series to understand this, this feels like a stand alone game that was trying to move on from god awful Syberia 3 .

THE BAD:
- Unskippable dialogue and cutscenes means it may be hard to replay the game again.


Conclusion:
Fantastic game that is befitting of the Syberia name. Lets just pretend Syberia 3 never happened.

Genre: FPS

The fact that this was made by a small team and gave away the game for free is amazing. The amount of work and effort that went into this fee mod is one of the best I have ever seen. The way they tied in all the different story elements of the Half Life Universe is impressive. There were times when I had to remind myself this was not a game made by Valve.

Obviously this game lacks the polish and production values but if you look past that, you will see a solid game.

Genre: FPS/ Rogue

THE GOOD:
+ The game has all the typical markings of a rogue like game. You have plenty of different characters, weapons, items and abilities to have some really fun builds. The game provides enough randomness both its items and levels to keep every play through engaging.

+ There is a ‘beat-meter’ where you have to fire your guns to the beat, failure to do so and you suffer a weapon jam. Luckily you can turn this off in the options and play the game as more of a traditional FPS game which I found more enjoyable.

+ Fantastic electronic rock soundtrack

THE AVERAGE:
+/- Like many other FPS rogue-like games, level design leaves a lot to be desired. Every level is a group of different rooms placed together randomly as you fight different enemies in each one.

THE BAD:
-Color saturation is really bad, luckily you can tone this down in the options but even still, there are many times where it is difficult to see enemies

- The game lacks balance. You either struggle to make it past the first two floors or you become a walking death tank and blow through just about anything. The first boss you face is probably the hardest just because of how under leveled you are. Almost every boss you face afterwards can be killed in a mater of seconds. If you can make it to the last boss, you pretty much already won the game.

Genre: 'Souls-Like'

I am really torn on this game. On the one hand, I respect the developers for making a game as complex as this, in this genre, however the 'souls' genre really needs a good budget and well designed levels to pull off properly.

This game although has some good ideas falls flat in many others.

-The levels are too big and empty which make exploration feel cumbersome. Levels themselves are often a confusing mess and don't feel natural.

-Their are a ton of secret walls and pathways but they are impossible to find without a walkthrough

-Most enemies are just respawns of bosses you fought earlier

- Combat is decent but can easily be powered through and made obsolete in the later half of the game.

- Many gameplay elements are poorly explained or not at all

In a genre that is crowded as this is, its hard to recommend this game when there are so many better games worth your time and money.

Genre: QTE, Interactive Drama

This is a fun engaging interactive movie. You play out multiple scenes and your decision affect the outcome. I was pleasantly surprised how different things played out depending on your actions/inaction. Your enjoyment will depend if you like the story and characters. Its worth at least one playthrough.
