While I haven't gotten very far in the game, even after 32 hours, it's a very interesting blend of collecting allies, scavenging resources, and base building. I like that the initial base building area is quite sizable which is very helpful considering there aren't a TON (that i've found thusfar) of flatland areas free of obstacles to build on, combined with the potential of working your way up to gain access to set up more bases, you can essentially increase the build area by setting up several bases in one spot. Pal breeding is a pretty cool mechanic, at first I thought you could only breed two pals of the same species but APPARENTLY you can breed different pals together, although i have no idea what to expect from that result. And it works fairly well on Steam Deck so you can take it to-go if you're playing and wanna keep it going while you head out. AND there's a pretty neat construct block that lets you "scan dna" of your favorite pals to send over to other worlds/saves/instantses. And the low-key messed up parts of the game just add to the twisted charm. Butcher knife replaces the petting feature.... So it's like "Hey, you trust me right? you've grown to love me? Sorry buddy, c'mere while I cut you to pieces while you scream on the ground." HA! Brutal. Need to make a pal stronger? Just command a bunch of pals of the same type to step into a high-tech juicer machine. "thanks to the noble sacrifice" my rear end. lol
Fairly large map, quite the variety of enemies, and anyone who enjoys games like Concan Exiles or Rust will get a real kick out of having some slav- *clears throat* willingful laborer helpers to manage the farms and produce useful crafting products in the ranch.

Would be dope if this was doctor who themed instead but ill take what i can get back to the future is dope. Love being able to watch past versions of myself but i was disappointed to be foiled by computing limitations i guess; cause I wanted to spend a whole day in Nov just reliving it and doing a bunch of shenanigans throughout the day until the running track was full of tardis' (thanks mods) and i could just all the past me's popping in and out throughout the day. I was even logging all my journeys so I park my tardis in the same exact spot moments after past me left to go on hijinks. but then when i traveled back to when i first arrived that day, i never showed up. Made me saaaaaad. I know realistically it cant keep track of infinite travels but i wish it could...

I've never been a fan of dungeon crawlers or games with a harsh penalties if you die; but once you get familiar with the controls and mechanics, it's actually really engaging! Basically, you start off with Tier 1 characters that cap at Lvl 25, and once you get a little bit of currency you can purchase more characters to work with (as you will need as many as you can, for all their purposes) you can select between different classes that have different skill caps. My advice after almost 70 hours; Sell decals, save up 50,000 coins and buy as many premium decals as you can! Its awesome that you can get the real-world currency as a daily log in award. Super duper cool that when you die, your character becomes a Hater and kills OTHER players and you reap the rewards of their deaths. However if you want to play as that character again, you can either hunt them down and kill them, or you can go to the freezer and spend coins to get your character back with all items/xp/earnings in tact. To clearify if you kill your hater you dont get those things back. But yeah, the whacky zaney Uncle Death alone makes this game enjoyable playing. Really take his words to heart in the beginning; It's not about how many times you die. It's about how many time you try. So come on into the Tower of Barbs, prepare to challenge fugly bosses; and hone your reflexes. Get hooked on mushrooms, squish your toads and grab your snails! Participate in Death Metro and attack other peoples bases and defend your own! And if you have a max level Tier 4 character, place it in a lower floor and LET IT DIE

it seems all the bad reviews are from people who havent yet honed their skills enough to succesfully execute the moves... And another guy just seemed upset because they're using vive wands, I can't get enough of the game and can't wait for further bug patches. i'm using index controllers and the handles keep detecting my sweaty hands as "gripping" which is really inconvienent when im wallrunning and theres a grabbable ledge. all in all great game, 9/10 (until completed) would recommend.
Edit: sometimes even when i hold the joystick towards the wall, my character will not wallrun and i fall to my death. on instadeath, this is a serious serious issue and is preventing me from getting to Hard. I hope this is fixed sooner rather than later.

It's good but it needs a lot of work. I constantly keep dropping ♥♥♥♥, it's far too dark, you can't dual wield melee weapons which make it feel gimmiky, things keep equipping into my hands when they're barely even able to be considered close to my body... I love that you require headshots to kill them, but I mean COME ON.... this game has soooo much potential... But it NEEEDS an update...
