when it's just trying to be Fallout 4: 2 it's mostly okay. it has some good improvements as far as basic gameplay goes, but goes even further away from actually being an RPG.

As far as multiplayer goes, it still feels broken and lacking. It took 15 minutes for my friend and I to end up in the same server. There's also no point to the player buildings because nothing you build ever stays from one session to the next.

All the in-game menus are also absolute garbage. Even worse than FO4.

The whole game just feels pointless, and I absolutely refuse to pay for a subscription that solves maybe half of the problems I have.

It feels like there's a really good RPG hidden in here if it's not too late for them to change the combat. The For Honor style is confusing and just not fun when you're up against more than a single person. If they find a way to fix that and polish everything else up a bit, I can't wait to play the full game.

Storywise, the game takes a VERY long time to get where it's supposed to be going. I also had been unconsciously assuming several things which were treated as big revelations much later in the game.

As far as gameplay goes, for the most part its a totally fine Amnesia-style first person game where you grab physics objects and solve puzzles. There is a moment very early on where you find a pistol just in time for a completely out of place boss fight, before immediately losing the pistol for the rest of the game. Why introduce (fairly well done) combat for 10 minutes of an 8 hour game? There is also a couple very poorly handled stealth sections that make the puzzles they involve more tedious than difficult.

I ended up quitting the game when I did not because I finished it, but because I had a gamebreaking glitch that caused a key item to disappear after a death. The story was so obvious and by this point the gameplay was getting so stale that I didn't bother to go back to it. Maybe another time, but not right now. It's a shame because the game is absolutely gorgeous to look at.

I'm so happy this game exists. It's a metroidvania with Dark Souls inspired combat set in the Star Wars universe. Not even EA managed to ruin that. Respawn did a great job and I love them dearly for it.
