It's hard to overstate how incredible Requiem is. Even the most casual and passing fan of the franchise should buy and play this. It's the best Resident Evil they've made yet. I'm not joking or being hyperbolic.

I LOVE this game's music, but I'm reviewing the quality of the files rather than the music itself.

Quality options: FLAC and MP3 320, excellent in my opinion. The enthusiast and high-end enjoyer are both covered and I appreciate it deeply.

Tagging: Nearly perfect work here, they've done a spectacular job filling it in with every little thing most anyone would want to know. However while the base game's tracks does have the OST cover art, the DLC tracks lack a cover art of any kind. I can manually supplant the original art over, but I would have loved a new bespoke cover. Additionally the standard supports a "disc" image, which I was hoping would contain at least 500x500 image renditions of the records as shown ingame given they have ingame record labels too, maybe zoomed in on the label portion. It's something I'll do on my own in the future, but I'd ADORE seeing it added to the official source. Lastly the DLC tracks aren't filed under disc 2 and are instead left blank, but this is an easy fix.

It might seem weird to care so much about these super small details, but all five of us who'd notice would feel warmth beyond measure to see that extra mile taken. I'm excited for the next installment no matter what happens.

I'd give it like a.. 9.25/10. Make those changes listed above, this would be the most lovingly polished soundtrack I've ever seen.

Best Tool for My Specific Needs

Having tried many available external FPS limiters up for download, and attempted to use my driver-based FPS limiter, I've found this to be the most ideal tool for my needs. I'm going to list the pros relevant to myself below.

- The option to switch between two FPS limits that you define. I have a 144Hz FreeSync monitor, and prefer running 60FPS in my singleplayer slash non-PVP games, but want it at 138 for PVP gaming. This software lets me switch between them with a single hotkey, which is extremely convenient.
- The ability to disable the limiter temporarily. RivaTuner, much as I like it, doesn't have a complete toggle feature, at least not for Vulkan. Several of the games I play perform better or have issues resolved by using DXVK with them, which nearly every software-based FPS limiter clashes with, including Game Dashboard (I don't consider this a bug with Dashboard, given it affects many other limiters.). Dashboard at least lets me temporarily disable its FPS limit per application bit-size, unlike RivaTuner that I have to forcibly close and unload to run DXVK-assisted games.
- It seems more reliable and consistent than my driver-level FPS limiter (AMD). I had excellent results with NVIDIA's FPS limiter via Inspector, but always had trouble with AMD's FRTC or Chill functioning at all times. They seemed intermittent at best and non-functional at worst. This could be due to me playing borderless fullscreen and alt-tabbing frequently, or due to my repertoire of games being persnickety with the options. Game Dashboard reliably caps every game I throw at it and comes with a second toggleable limit to boot.

I bought this software in June 2021 and I guess forgot about it or settled on RivaTuner at the time, but this has quickly become my go-to for two universal speed limits on my PC. The developer is still active but rarely gets worthwhile ideas/suggestions to warrant an update, and I've had no issues with it doing its job so far.

Honestly one of the best action roguelikes I've ever played. If you're someone like me who loves limitless power fantasy, this is 100% your jam. Literally every upgrade you find and earn can be LIMITLESSLY INCREASED to LUDICROUS EFFECT. I have high hopes for the game's improvement, will recommend it to several friends and probably buy some copies for others, and hope it retains this lawless insanity throughout :3

Now that Sony has removed the PSN account requirement, I am happy to report my earnest findings on Helldivers 2.

It's a blast! Little buggy (HAH) in places, few crashes we've had, but the core gameplay is intense and great. Thank you Sony for reversing your decision, and I hope the Xbox community can join us soon.

I'm doing my part!

EDIT (9/20/2024): The latest major update improved game balance tremendously. It might need a little tweaks here and there still, but we've left the days of feeling annoyingly underpowered against our foes. The game is at one of the best states its ever been.

EDIT (3/21/2025): Apparently the developers hate everyone who plays their games, so I'd suggest you not buy it. They were targeting that large blossoming demographic of "absolutely nobody" it turns out.

Please fix the servers AND add an offline only mode. I've played the utter crap out of Payday 2 and I want to play the utter crap out of Payday 3, but with the servers not working correctly I can't. :(

Bigger and Better than the First

I very much enjoy Killing Floor 2. The first game was one that I grew to love in my time playing it, but recognized the above average difficulty curve and notable reliance on having to level up your perks to be really competitive in the game, such as making weapon costs much more achievable. Below is a moderately exhaustive list of highlights that I think people would want to know about KF2.

  • Expansions on all the enemy types, leading to visual variety and additional diversity in enemy behavior
  • New bosses for boss waves, further increasing diversity in matches
  • New perks like the Gunslinger (pistoleer), Survivalist (jack-of-all-trades) and SWAT (SMGs) for more build options
  • Weapons can now be cross-compatible with perks within reason (Gunslingers' skills enhance the Field Medic's pistol)
  • KF2 utilizes Unreal Engine 3 to drive itself, which is an excellent step up from KF1's UE2.5
  • Several original maps were re-imagined for KF2, all of them looking incredible over their KF1 counterparts
  • Steam Workshop support for custom content, best used with custom maps
  • KF1 DLC weapons return as base game content for free
  • New paid DLC weapons can be purchased, but free (HRG prefixed) weapons are added too
  • All paid DLC weapons can be used by anyone so long as one player in the match owns them
  • Players can also experiment with the paid DLC weapons in solo via cheats (refer to Steam guides or KF2 Wiki)
  • DLC weapons can now be purchased with a yearly pass, much cheaper than before (currently 22 guns for 50$)

The game also received Epic Games Store crossplay support in an update around the same time as the game was available on Epic's platform, but I would generally advise people purchase the Steam version for the Workshop support. EGS players will have to manually download and install custom maps, which is absolutely doable but a modest inconvenience in comparison.

You can currently get it (as of August 17th 2022) for 2.60$ (please check gg.deals[gg.deals] for best price) and it has been given away on Epic at least once.

2D Smash with MUGEN but Furry

Up front, I want to be clear that I'm not big on fighting games. The only ones I have any reasonable length of time playing are MUGEN, Smash 4 and Rivals of Aether. My perspective is mostly limited to these games as a result.

That said, Rivals of Aether is exceptionally enjoyable to me. I have regularly enjoyed the gameplay and skill ceilings of Smash 4, and marveled at the customization and variation that MUGEN (or at least pre-built MUGEN clients) offered. To have a Smash-like fighter on PC with custom character support via the Steam Workshop for utterly painless installation process is an utter joy.

  • 18 base characters to play as, each with their own traits, strengths and weaknesses
  • Exhaustive tutorial system that not only covers the basic movement of the game, but goes into each character and exactly how their mechanics work
  • Online combat with that fancy rollback netcode thing people love so much :) NOTE: I am unclear if Workshop characters support rollback, be advised.
  • Massive catalog of Workshop supporting a modest variety of options (characters, maps and buddies primarily), from the 1:1 ports from Smash to the joke characters from MUGEN or exclusive to this game
  • Online combat support for Workshop characters, you both need to have the character installed however, so no downloading the character on the fly. Thanks to them being 2D though, my 369 subscribed items only take up 2.5 gigs on my drive!
  • Potential negative: The game lacks PlayStation or Nintendo button prompts, and I've not found any mods or means of injecting them yet. This is a negative for me personally, I just felt like it was worth mentioning.

I do not believe the game has any crossplay with other platforms, and as far as I know it's only available to play through Steam.

You can currently get it (as of August 17th 2022) for 29.99$. Please check gg.deals[gg.deals] for the best price when you're reading this, it's historical low was 3.74$!
