Can be as relaxed or sweaty as you like playing this. Every bit feels carefully crafted and lovingly implemented, the Dev has poured an extraordinary amount of their love and creativity into this game and it shows. Worth every penny whether on sale or full price.

I keep coming back to this game. Infantry combat is solid and a good mix of equipment. Best played with friends so you can communicate and organize.

This game is just a touch ludicrously silly, and I love it. Though keep in mind, I'd recommend holding off on the Skyfortress DLC content for abit, it's upgrades make you a touch OP for the main camapign.

Below is the review I left shortly after an update to this game was released that really soured my taste for the game, and it's developers. Since then however, they have removed microtransactions (can still market things and require to pay for drills for old safes but new ones open free), they have apologized for their decision, and in at least my opinion, have been making amends. Some may not feel that way, but I feel comfortable in saying they are. With friends this game is still very enjoyable, bit of a steep learning curve, and quite a lot of DLC that all could do with a price drop, but, I can say still fun. I would recommend it now, again, but I am keeping my eye on them.




I would not recommend this game to anyone. On multiple occasions the developers have shown no respect for their community. They have lied to, ignored, and shown incredible immaturity towards the people that actually made their game.

In a $20 game with $110.73 of DLC, they introduced Microtransactions similar to Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike Global Offensive, but worse. The weapons acquired from safes (similar to crates(TF2) and cases(CSGO)) can give boosts to various stats of the weapon. When called out on this, along with promises made when the game was first released and when it was being pre ordered before launch that they would not include microtransactions at any time during the games life, they remained silent during the entirety of their Crimefest event and went back into the Steam forums to try and delete the past effectively. Too bad for them, the community has some dedicated members who kept that archived.

During an AMA conducted the day after the Crimefest event ended, the head of Overkill, Almir, seemed to be quie detached from reality when he stated that the community liked the microtransaction update (Black Market update) and that they as an Indie Developer could benefit from the increased revenue since they had tripled their employee base. Overkill is not an Indie Dev, they haven't been for quite some time now, though they attempt to play themselves off as one at every turn.

What hurts the most is I supported Payday 2 and the team over at Overkill, thinking they were different and that they weren't like EA or Ubisoft, looking purely for your money and not listening. For a time that was true, but recent changes have proven me wrong. Overkill Software is not looking to make a great game, they're looking to make money, and they have shown they don't care about their fanbase enough to be honest with them, taking up anti consumer tactics like microtransactions, and just treating the community like cash cows.

I can not in good faith recommend this game to anyone for too many reasons.
