Developers simply don't care about 1/2 of the audience.
They cater heavily to the PvE side and leave PvP in shambles.
Why every single lobby do I have to get ratted by a person throwing trigger grenades at every corner he passes.
If I'm not one shotted by the Il Toro, which outperforms every heavy weapon, or spammed down by the venator again outperforming heavy weapons, I get 13 grenades thrown at me that break my shield or kill me entirely.

There's no skill ceiling, there's no advantage to being better.
This game fundamentally caters to mindless talentless terrible players.

I nolifed this game all the way up to orion on mouse & keyboard, and there is a lot I want to talk about.

1. Aim assist is overtuned , I have been in the top 500 in enough FPS titles to speak from an educated stand point (t500 overwatch, 500rr valorant, global elite / faceit10 CSGO, Onyx Halo Infinite)

It locks onto you like aimbot, no matter what you do to throw it off no level of movement based skill expression can get them off. Any time they are behind you, they jump at you, you peak into an angle they are holding, you do not have a fighting chance no matter how good your reaction time is (mine is 137ms) you are at the biggest peakers disadvantage I have ever seen, I would rather wide swing 5 op's mid in valorant immo lobbies than test my luck peeking into a 14 year old on his PS5 controller with cheeto's all over his fingers.

2. Time to kill every weapon is a laserbeam with a 200ms ttk and no recoil.
Within pro play they had to form a gentlemans agreement to not tune any attachments, to not use any hipfire or trigger action attachments, and to not use a variety of guns that would render others useless.

3. Game direction from the movement nerfs, gun balancing that promotes close to mid range fights, rendering snipers useless in warzone.
All of it is on purpose to cater to a pleb console average andy audience and I get that, it's a Call of Duty title my expectations were low. The developers want the boomers who get home from a nightshift and hop on the game to call children racial slurs and run around with their minibak that is stuck gold permanently to enjoy themselves, but why am I forced to play with them? I want to encounter real skill expression, people that have to aim like me flicking / tracking who aren't landing their shots simply because of software that is overtuned in their favour and this segways into my next point nicely.

4. PC players are not valued.
EVERY OTHER PLATFORM CAN TURN OFF CROSSPLAY
WHY CAN PC NOT TURN OFF CROSSPLAY, WHY DO YOU HATE US.

I do not want to play with console players, they singlehandedly ruin warzone replayability. I want trades that are winnable through human error / skill expression, not to enter a room 9 kills into the game and be immediately lasered by a player hiding in the corner who immediately locks onto me for their 1 kill game average.

Controller players also get to change their interaction settings to make looting easier while it is bugged out and disgusting on PC.

5. Changing attachments in killcam freezes you for 15 seconds or entirely crashes you, this glitch took at least 10 minutes of my lifespan and to this day it is unresolved, very annoying when you are grinding camoes.

6. Looting feels bad How did you perfect it in the previous title then implement it so poorly here.
Guns fade through the earth, ammo is there but not interactive, this has lost me fights and honestly makes me want to uninstall every time it happens.

7. Vehicles feel much worse in the previous game helicopters had motion to them, when you jumped out it would fly in a straight line and this led to some funny interactions. Cars felt really controllable, fast and fun to use, in this game the vehicles feel clunky and confused.

8. Window interactions climbing through them, diving through them, crouching into them. I have died from being caught on or bouncing off of windows at least 100 times. I don't even know why it is like this but in modern warfare 2019 windows were buttery, what did you even do???

9. Not able to create blueprints (this feature was in the former game), at some point I had an attachment reset glitch, I had a few really strong classes and randomly they were stripped of all attachments and I lost the tuning I had worked on.

10. People glitching inside buildings and being unkillable, speaks for itself.

11. DMZ instability causing crashes out of nowhere, every time I play DMZ my friends disconnect randomly and lose everything. This has made it unplayable for us, we simply will not touch the gamemode ever again.

12. Pacing of warzone 2.0, previously you would rush loadout / uav and ride around in a car looking for trades, it was a fastpaced and exciting version of battle royale. Now they have made loadout something you get 1/5 games, limited UAV (which was fair).

This is the best game on the market right now, the quality and frequency in updates made to this game is unmatched.
In my 20 years of gaming I have never found a game that comes close to what Rust has to offer.

The experience is unique to the game, progression is simple and fun, the player interactions come with a variety of emotion, the monuments are exciting and at the peak of rust intense and exhilarating, when you are stuck in a 10vs10 gunfight at launch site with grubs coming from all sides to try and clean you up, your heart is racing the entire discord is going crazy there is no other game that can compare to this feeling.

As a FPS survival game, there is so many skills that you can develop and work on for thousands of hours, and yet you will still discover people who are so good at a single thing it amazes you. I found a guy who played solo, and had more rockets in his tiny cave than my entire clan who would stay up to ungodly hours farming sulfur, because he would destroy the bradley's at launch site in a specific timeslot when the server slept every night for the whole wipe.

There is a place for everybody in Rust, if you want to just build giant fortified monster bases you can do that, if you want to put on armour sets and run around shooting people and raiding you can do that, if you want to live in a 2x2 base far away from people and focus on perfecting clones for optimal pumpkins you can do that.

Game development has become so lazy and stale in recent years, most games are designed without passion to meet a deadline and pull as much money as possible from brand recognition.

Projects are started and abandoned as soon as profits have flooded in almost like a crypto rugpull, with updates slowing down leaving the audience dwindling over time until they leave entirely and move on to the next cashgrab (HiRez *cough*)

But Facepunch are different and they deserve the recognition and praise for their dedication to this title.

When I look back on Halo Reach it is my fondest memory in FPS ever with over 10,000 hours spread throughout many titles.

The reward for your time was that no matter how much you invested it always felt worthwhile, and it always left you wanting more. To achieve this the game had a credit system, armour and effects that were varied and earnable, and a multitude of gamemodes that were refreshing for when gameplay got stagnant, as well as a community hub where people could invent their own gamemodes.

Swat got boring? sniper only. sniper got boring? slayer. Shooting got boring? community modes gravball.
Bouncing between gamemodes, interacting with the community through screenshots, and voice chat, continuous lobbies.

Everything felt incentivised to keep me playing the game,

All I ever wanted from Infinite was to feel that exact way again, to feel connected with the community and unbound by the modern corporate approach to video games, I wanted to feel passion in the project on a new engine that connects with my older and more modernly adapted brain and I just didn't get that.

The push to sell cosmetics, the promises that fell through, this game was a complete miss and didn't tap into the former glory of Halo and the solution to all of these problems is so simple yet they will never discover them as long as they are focused on profit and modern money making schemes that games implement.

Nobody wanted a battlepass, nobody cared about the bought skins, people want their time to be valued and incentivised.

CSGO was the pinnacle of FPS, it had everything.
How can a company go from that to this tragedy?
We need to stop letting developers ruin staples.

Bullet magnetism, lower skill ceiling, subtick disgust, run and gun, no skill anymore.
From a former Faceit 10 player I can't see a reason to keep playing, sold my whole inventory.
