I put a lot of hours into Dreadmyst and spent my hard-earned money on it because I thought I was buying into a game with a future, not an expensive masterclass in disappointment. I supported it in good faith, expecting an actual continuing project, but apparently optimism was the real scam.

What really hurts is the time investment. I could have spent those hours grinding to 99 woodcutting on OSRS, which, in hindsight, would have been a far more stable career path. Instead I got to watch a game I believed in go from “promising” to “abandoned with confidence” in record time.

It’s impressive, really. Not every project can make you feel like the punchline while also asking for your money first. I wanted this to succeed, but I can’t recommend something that managed to waste both my time and cash while acting like that was somehow part of the plan.
