Overall, Sniper Elite V2 is a pretty decent game, but it isn't a game 100% worth your time and money.

Pro:
- Awesome kill graphics
- Realistic bullet physics (e.g. wind, bullet drop, etc.)
- Recreated WWII environments (e.g. Berlin)
- Several ways to kill


Con:
- Doesn't reward stealth (no real challenge except not dying)
- Fairly linear map layout

I take issue with the last two, as it doesn't make the game a powerful challenge. Essentially, where Uncharted, Splinter Cell and Metal Gear increase difficultly accordingly, Sniper Elite V2 allows you to shoot your way out, and nothing worse happens. No heightened alert modes, no extra enemies barrelling in... there's not much about Sniper Elite V2's challenge.

The linear map layout? There are chances to flank the enemy and kill them from several angles, but there's a lot of places that could potentially be visited or explored, only to be blocked off by the lack of an action prompt. The several angles make less use in game, with the "shooting your way out" business making stealthy kills fairly redundant. Brothers in Arms makes a better, more realistic use of the several angles approach.

- Have not tried multiplayer/co-op. No friends to do so.

A masterpiece in its own right.

Ken Levine and Irrational Games have done it yet again, creating a work of art, story and gameplay you'll never be able to put down. From start to finish, the story by itself is compelling, and the world around you is beautifully rendered.

It feels minutely different from the original BioShock, such as not being able to Research or carry several weapons at once, but the gameplay overall is still something to behold. Graphics-wise, its best to have high-end hardware, or graphics are not completely fluid nor flawless.

Columbia, in peace or in war, is much, much more than just a single city. The citizens, the buildings, every single figure you see has a story to tell, whether alive or dead.

In the end, the whole scene you have seen will leave you thinking about what has been... and what could have been. What was, what is, and what will be.


Now, bring yourself to play, and wipe away the doubt.
