I hate to sound negative about a game that JUST came out. But man, HighGuard was a lot more disappointing than I expected.

- Gunplay genuinely feels like I'm playing a mobile game. There is nothing really special about the PVP in my opinion.

- 3v3 is not enough, the maps are way to big. This game would definitely feel a lot better if it was 5v5's or 6v6. Pushing to 8v8's is also not a bad idea.

- Cant toggle or toggle off crouch or ADS. I know it might sound like a douche thing to say. But I personally think when people dont even look to implement QOL functions as small as that. Its hard to believe they care about the game.

- Audio issues at this point are iconic. People in front of you sound like their above you. People besides you are actually in front of you. Vice versa for every direction.

- This game runs horrible. I am at a peak 120 frames or less. The moment any effects like explosions or close range pvp starts I joke you not I drop down to almost 20 - 30 frames.

- The raid element doesn't make sense to me. What's the point of making people blow up walls if generators are already shown to you when you're attacking a base. I don't even think I've blown up more than three walls. Ironically it was easier for me to get to the objective just walking. On top of this, what's the point of even putting the bomb on any of the generators when you can just put it on the core. For those who might be confused. You put bombs on generator A, and B. It is 30 seconds for each one but you can only put one bomb at a time. You need to blow up ONLY TWO for you to win. But For the core, its 60 seconds. Blow that up, and win the game without having to use two bombs. Another thing is when your base is getting attacked. You have to teleport back in, in order for you to defend it. Even if you're outside of the shield you cant even simply walk back into base. You HAVE to teleport. Maybe I'm being pretty nit-picky about that specific scenario. But personally, it makes absolutely no sense to me. Why can't I just walk back into my base to defend it? The game doesnt even let you walk out when its being attacked (which honestly makes sense).

The game genuinely feels like they slapped a medieval theme, with magic, and were like "what if there were guns" "what if there were rocket launchers" "what if you could ride a bear" and this is what we got. The people who got to play-test this game must've been on a NASA computer. Its hard to believe they experienced the same thing and refused to tell the dev's about the issues.

I will say this game seems like its enjoyable if you don't care about most of these aspects and are looking for a fun time with your friends. But there is really nothing interesting or spectacular about HighGuard.

Honestly not worth the amount their asking for. Would recommend waiting for a sale.

Otherwise its pretty fun but not worth the amount for content their giving.

With almost 200 hours since the release of the game and 400 during their second beta I think the time has come to leave a review.

Starting off I want to say this game has A LOT of potential to grow into something big and amazing. But there are some MAJOR issues going on that are ruining the experience of the game A LOT. These are the reasons I would not recommend the game.

If you just want a summary of MY THOUGHTS on the game scroll to the bottom. Everything else is what the games current state is and why I wouldn't recommend it.

First Issue : Cheaters, the amount of cheaters is actually ridiculous. The abilities they have are even more insane. Some of the things they can do, they shouldn't be able to do in the first place such as god mod, fly, change fire rate of weapons, and ETC. The fact they didn't predict to me that this would happen is quite astonishing. Some cheaters are flying around playing racist music and then just aimbotting you. They also seem to be banning cheaters manually because there anti cheat sucks. I have run into the same cheaters since this game was in Pre-season and they still haven't been banned. The Community managers state to message them if you come in contact with a cheater but it doesn't seem to do anything since they never get back to you. I usually run into around 3 to 5 cheaters a day and if there on one map then chances are you just have to play the other map for a few hours until you can predict that they aren't on anymore. I feel like I shouldn't be running into cheaters EVERY day because compared to other games I play, I run into them (at least the blatant ones) once or twice a week maximum. Cheaters actually feel like devs because of all the abilities they have, and the devs had once said that a blatant cheater wasn't cheating when it was obvious he was.

Second Issue : The balancing, is god awful. They want an UNREALISTIC way for this game to run. Starting this off with the guns in the game. With all due respect it seems like there lacking common sense about balancing things. The guns in Second beta were better than the guns in the full release, and the guns in the First beta were better than the guns in the Second beta. The full release feels like a joke compared to the beta, the beta's were a lot more entertaining and was A LOT more balanced that the released version of the game. Grinding to high tier weapons were actually worth it and paid off a lot in PVP & PVE. But now, seemingly because of the people who suck at this game. The high tier guns are only worth getting to PVE. Not even joking the starter AR is the strongest gun in the game right now. And the gun tied with it in first is unlocked a level after. NONE of the higher tier guns have a better TTK than the starter guns right now and to quote them with what they stated. "we want people to be able to take any gun regardless of tier and if they spend the time to master it, to be able to kill anyone without much difference in the shots or time to kill, and to be able to master the recoil pattern of those weapons to feel confident in fighting anyone regardless of gear difference" . So there's no point in using higher weapons at the moment other than starting weapons. If you pay for a 10K kit you will be as equal as someone with a 500K kit.

Next issue is armor. Armor tier is White | Green | Blue | Purple | Red. No one runs anything more than blue because the starter guns will shred through everything else. If you run into those with Purple you then you should've bought the lottery that day. Run into someone with red then you shouldn't even have touched the game because there probably cheating. The armors though make so little difference against PVP and only helps during PVE. Which in beta two it was NOTICEABLE that it saved you from PVP. But now Purple BARELY saves you from ONE bullet if you were to wear Blue. Then Pink will BARELY save you from one bullet if you were to wear Purple. The Blue armor is the only jump from green where it would save you noticeably. But even then the starter guns still shred everything so its really just for the PVE. So right now, still no reason to even bother progressing. Not even kidding, get basic mechanics down and go run white gear on the second map and you will wipe those with blue and higher, granted you hit your shots.

Next Balancing issue are Grenades. So OP you can throw them faster and they blow up faster than the grenade launcher in the game. No matter your armor grenades will one/two tap you. The rate you can throw them at is actually insane and they weight so little you can stack so much in your inventory.


Third Issue : It seems like the developers are just generally making bad choices in works of making the game better. Their going the complete opposite route of what they should be doing. The game ATM is literally dying and it shows. It doesn't feel like there stepping up to their issues at all. Let alone it feels like there irresponsible. It seems like they should get a new developer team and community managing team. First week of release they took the weekend off. I also think some of the mods in the discord from what I have seen, seem to be biased towards there opinions and if you don't agree you will be "warned" for "disrespecting & mocking developers". The fact that we also run into the same cheaters after a week or couple days still makes it seem like there not paying attention.



My thoughts : The games going to die, I feel like its inevitable. The main reason being they didn't expect cheats to get as bad as they are now. They would have to go so far back into there game to figure out where they went wrong that by the time they find out where they screwed up, their game would be dead. If your looking to play the game, don't go in with high hopes because it is very likely the game will die. Even players that played both betas agree, like literally all of them not even kidding. At least the good players and those who had invested all there time into the game. Seems like somewhere along the beta they screwed up bad and haven't recovered since then. I personally think they should just shut down the game and re-work everything before there reputation dies down even more, or make it so you have to pay for the game.

Played only this game for years and remember every moment in it. From the hobo spamming his mic to textures not rendering. Felt like I played the game during its prime time, everything that was fun started dying out. Servers had stricter rules and the unfiltered any goes server's were dying/taken down. Which felt like a BIG part of this game had left with them. People I used to encounter and my friends (including me) have clearly stopped playing once all those servers died off. Unless you have been playing this game since the very start you would already know what I'm talking about. I feel as if this games prime has already past and that prime version of it is now gone. It's still enjoyable none the less, all the mods, all the freedom, and the hobo's mic spamming. Highly would recommend if your looking to have fun and a good time all around. This game has a lot of everything.

I've Had the game for about 3 to 4 years now. It was extremely enjoyable and I have no complaints concerning bugs or exploits. Sadly though, when I had bought the game it seemed to be dying. Of course to come the year after I bought it, it was clearly showing a lost player base. There would only be 3 servers, neither one of them full, usually half or 3/4th full. It was always enjoyable none the less. The game modes, the people, the characters and the mechanics. I never ran or can think of any cheating moments/bug's/exploits that were in the game. I would put a lot more hours into the game if it wasn't for the lack of players. You can only get a lobby to start off on the weekends or if you have a HUGE group of friends interested in playing. And by lobby to start off on the weekend's I mean there's still around 3 to 6 people in one server. Its honestly really enjoyable and I've had a blast the whole time I've played it. I have no regrets buying this game, just seems like the DEV's abandoned it and let the player base die. I would recommend the game, but I wouldn't recommend buying it. Unless you have a group to play with.

I started playing the game when it was released free to play. When I started there was about a dozen servers and only 3 would be full or almost full and they were mainly the EU servers. Now there's only four or three servers left, and usually one only has around 7 out of 20 people in it waiting for a game to start. The game was obviously dying and it didn't seem like anything could be done. Had A lot of fun playing this game especially with friends. The Movement feels a bit weird at first but once you learn how to use it, you can greatly use it to your advantage. It was so much fun and I would recommend it if your trying to take a break off other games. If you some how manage to gather 20 people to join you in a game. I would recommend trying it out.

I'm top 20 Mirage mains on PC and I've been playing this game since it came out. It's been a real fun ride and its definitely the best battle royale out there. The gun's are great, mechanics are amazing, and skins look cool as hell. But it feels like the developing team doesn't want to listen to any of its players. The servers are horrible by god. High registration is still problem since season 3. It's feels like the game was a lot better when it came out. When events appear with new cosmetics to open. You need to pay for all of it, before when you could just get a few quest done to obtain one to three cosmetic items. Which was fair enough regarding they only put in 20 new items every event. Some of there holiday events are the same thing since season 4. But don't get me wrong, out of every game I have played this game has the most creative staff members. But it literally just feels like there more focused on putting things into the game rather than fixing things. If they would fix there server problems and listen to players complaining about there dog crap audio. This game would be amazing again.
