Death Trash is an absolutely amazing concept and a truly enjoyable game. I fell in love with the game after playing the demo and was super eager to play more of it with the full early access version. The game delivers in a lot of ways, but it doesn't come without it's draws.

Pros:
Amazing atmosphere
- The art, the sound, everything about Death Trash's world is full of character and is uniquely it's own thing.

Fun and challenging gameplay
- I played Death Trash on the hardest difficulty and in my opinion, it struck perfectly between being frustratingly difficult, and incredibly rewarding. Dying over and over again didn't matter because as long as I killed these two guards eventually, i'd feel rewarded.

Rewarding leveling system
- I feel like the leveling system was done very well. It isn't too complicated to feel overwhelming, but is varied enough to give you plenty of choice. And those choices give a major impact.

Cons:
Story
- When I first played the demo, the opening sequence intrigued me quite a bit. What was wrong with this world? Who are we? Why are we banished from this sacred society? What is that society like? What is the outside world like now? There was a serious possibility of this game delivering on a very cool and rich story. Unfortunately, it's delivery isn't done so well. That isn't to say that the lore itself is boring or anything, far from it, but the way the quests are handled feel lackluster. I never really felt a "wow" moment during the game. No major plot developments. Just go talk to this person, meet this other person, go collect this item. It was sadly quite repetitive after 8 or 9 hours.

Characters
- Once you meet a couple characters, you begin to notice that they all sort of sound.. the same? Except for a few exceptions, a vast majority of characters you meet all have this sarcastic, blunt, undertone to them. It's a minor issue but you can tell that all of the character dialogue was written by one guy.

Melee late game
- I built my character around the idea of a rogue melee assassin. I chose this because I really like stealth in video games and being able to sneak into a facility, kill all of your foes, and extract with the goods is a very fun and appealing game loop for me. This means that my build focused primarily on the Strength, Stealth, and Melee stats. These work decently enough for early game, but they really shine in the mid game when you start getting better gear to kill your opponents faster. However, once you reach the late game where everyone has pulse rifles, regular rifles, and on top of that being chased by those dashing creatures, being a Melee only build becomes impossible. Even with shield's and the Vanish skill, having maxed out Strength, Stealth, and Melee stats, and having a Cleaver with a +1 damage modifier with a +1 crit damage all seeing eye implant, it becomes incredibly difficult to impossible to kill groups of more than 3 enemies at a time.

Useless skills
- Some skills I just simply never spec'd into. Bartering, and pick pocketing to be exact. Which is weird since if I'm role playing as a rogue, pick pocketing would seem to be the logical skill to advance. But there's hardly ever any reason to do it. The only people you can pick pocket are either random civilians or sometimes enemies but ultimately they just give you scraps that you could have collected otherwise. And bartering for better prices just feels like throwing away skill points since you *will* be constantly dying and need better stats to somewhat circumvent that.

Pointless locations
- Every con I've listed before this have all been minor things in my opinion. While it's unfortunate that they exist, I was still able to have a very good time with the game. However, the one thing that was a constant annoyance, was this game's lack of ever rewarding the player for exploring every nook and cranny of the world. Don't get me wrong, check a corner of the world map here, get some adventurtine, check out this facilities rooms there, maybe get some craftable material or knowledge fragments. This game does give the player things for when they check certain spots, but there will constantly be moments where you will explore an entire portion of a level that was very obviously handcrafted to be looked at and played in, only to find nothing there and go "What is the point of this even being here?". This could simply be a case of the game still being in early access though so it can be forgiven, same for many of the other cons, but I do hope they improve upon this on release.

Ultimately I give Death Trash an 8/10, would absolutely recommend anyone to play this game. It's such an enjoyable experience with really rewarding mechanics that once you master, you feel like a champion. I really can't wait to see how the final product of this game turns out and I hope my feedback helps the developer in some way.

Absolutely brilliant game. Just the right amount of difficulty with some of the most satisfying kills in any first person shooter I've ever played. I really hope they continue and make a third game.
