I tried really REALLY hard to like this game but it feels like it doesn't have a soul, or a real personality, even though its desperate to have both.
RNG in my opinion plays too much of a role in this game, and the leveling system is very punishing and annoying. Oh, yes you can disable it, but then you wont powercells for completing a map.

Every run feels the same, and it gets old quick..

Instead of adding boring ass copies of outfits and guns devs should maybe consider improving the performance of this "game"...
Each update my average FPS drops by at least 10, now I can't even play properly using Lossless Scaling.
Laughable.

As a general game review:
Absolutely breathtaking and insanely fun! Story mode deserves all the praise, and it's co-op multiplayer mode (Legends) is severely underrated!!!

As a PC port review...:
I'm not a fan of how we can't transfer saves from PS4/PS5 to PC. Althogh, I did 100% everything on PS4 so I just had to download a maxed out save file for PC.
Another major issue is how Legends mode (which is what I play mainly now that I completed the Story mode many times), doesn't work on Steam Deck. It would be my number 1 game if it wasn't for the non-compatibility of Legends mode with Linux.

Side note: While there is a way to rebind certain things if you plan on playing with keyboard and mouse, rebinding things usually break button combination prompts/actions.
I highly recommend playing with a controller!

Ive seen tests on YouTube showing how well the game runs on Steam Deck with FSR frame gen and all that. The game does *sometimes* get to a stable 45-ish FPS, but when doing missions and especially while a cutscene is playing, the struggles around 15-20 FPS.

I would NOT call this game Steam Deck verified!


Besides that, the game itself was good to play on PS4, so don't take this review into account if you are planning on playing the game on anything other than the Steam Deck.

-Insanely bad optimiztion. I put graphics on low and turned on FSR 3.0 and still get a max of 40ish FPS...

-The first heist I played was the one on the top of the list and it was just confusing. A woman kept screaming "TAKE DOWN DAT ANTENA" and I still have no clue what she was babbling about but after getting the money there was no indication of what to do. In short, gameplay is ♥♥♥♥.

-I was baffled by the lack of content, I thought I must be looking at the wrong places to get guns/masks and such, because there are only so few of them. Most weapons are locked behind DLC, which I'm definitely not buying for a half assed game like this...


TLDR: Game is unoptimized, lacking in content and gameplay confusing/not exciting.

I like that this game feels more like 2 games in 1 because you have to take care of your cult which in itself is very nice, and then there is the dungeon fighting part which is also pretty fun.
Whats even better is that the more you spend time with your cult, the stronger you will be in the dungeons. This is great for those who prefer to spend more time with their cult instead of fighting, and for those who want to make the fighting part of the game easier, even on harder difficulties.

A must have game if you have a Steam Deck!

There are many aspects of old video games that I miss and love. Janky graphics, iconic-poor quality sounds, and simplicity.

Unfortunately, Zortch also presents a problem many old video games used to have: poor map design
There was not a single map where I went through a door and asked myself "Where the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to go??".

The last straw was on a map that takes place in the canyons, you go through a mine field and you find a red door in a base. You need a red card for it, but the card is behind an energy field that has absolutely no indication of how you are supposed to turn it off. No wires, no nothing.
After 30 minutes, I found out I had to go back to the middle of the map and blow up some slightly off-color rocks in the side of a cliff, and behind those rocks was a generator that I had to destroy.
On top of this, there was a green card right in front of the red card that wasn't even needed to get the red card at all....
