That would be great if Customer Support could change my nickname on the Wargaming account. That account shows my real name.

I don't have access to support tools, but can take a look and maybe tell what to do or at least what to request from Customer Support.
And BTW they can help you to change nickname for free if it contains your real name by mistake.
I don't think I will ever master this game, but it sure is fun to play. I haven't started a campaign, yet. The crew at SubSim say the 1984 campaign is the "easiest" to start with, for a new player. I plan to start with that one, when I am ready to begin a campaign. Hope to see you on the site.
Sadly, the C64 was sold after I returned it to my dad when I got my first Windows system and he sold it to a friend of his. Wish I had the foresight to keep it. I never thought it would hold such sentimental value to me.
Thanks again for all the info. I'll be visiting the SubSim website for more suggestions. I have been putting the hours into Cold Waters -- I think I will enjoy this forever. I am still so far from mastering it.
Thank you for the info on ATS. I had not thought of trying it with a controller. I have an Xbox One "Recon Tech" model that is absolutely fantastic with "Rocket League". I may have to give it a try with ATS.
I hear you on the space issue. I am using the desk that my youngest used when she was in middle school, (she graduated college recently), and it barely has room for my monitors, let alone my HOTAS, microphone, speakers, and other accessories.
When my oldest finishes her teaching internship, graduates, and moves out, I will use her room as my hobby/gaming/streaming room. I will most likely build a desk to accommodate my needs. I am in no rush, so I can take my time and build it slowly, due to my disabilities.
I do not have direct experience with "Atlantic Fleet" or "Dangerous Waters", but I hear good things about them from the gang on the SubSim forums. The older "Silent Service" series was fun. You might want to look at those, too, just as a comparison.
When I first started gaming, I was a Commodore, (VIC-20, C64 and all of its variants, and Amiga 500), gamer. There are a lot of sub sims and flight sims from that platform that I would love to see on PC platform, but today's graphics and programming capabiliities blows those games out of the water, (pun intended).
The best suggestion/recommnedation I can give you regarding other games is, visit the SubSim forums and read through the different game threads. There is a wealth of information on that site.
In regards to American Truck Sim -- Unfortunately I cannot make a good recommendation for a wheel/pedal/shifter -- I don't use one either. I have found that an X-Box controller is a really good alternative. I have an 'aftermarket' Fusion PowerA, which only cost me about $40. It has fantastic sensitivity and is a much better alternative to using keyboard and mouse. I would absolutely love to have a full setup with wheel and pedal, but I just don't have a large enough space to accomodate all of that gear.
Can you make any other sub game recommendations? I have played a couple of the Silent Hunter games. I may need to dust them off and give them another try. My favorite was Silent Hunter III due to its non-linear gameplay and ability to manage the crew. I have Silent Hunter 5, but haven't spent much time on it. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.
Games like this always tend to direct my interests. With War Thunder, I became obsessed with World War 2 aircraft. When I played Silent Hunter, I wanted to know more about U-Boats. Now I am absolutely fascinated by modern submarines and sub warfare. I have a newfound respect for servicemembers of all nations who crew submarines. I visited the USS Albacore in Portsmouth, NH some years ago and was able to go inside for a tour. I can't imagine the anxiety of being in one of those things during combat. And if the sub is sunk; man, what a way to go.
I see you are playing ATS, as well. I am looking for a good steering wheel/pedal/shifter assembly. With my hand spasms/cramps, the keyboard/mouse routine is "interesting" to say the least. In ATS, I have already sideswiped a law enforcement vehicle, and that was on a short haul.
The Real Question is, Have you been to Korea? Going to Korea as a Civilian would be amazing. But being in the MIlitary it sucked completely.
