The performance is fine and the game is fantastic. The game has a good mixture of easier enemies to teach you the mechanics, and brutally hard battles you have to work to overcome.

I've never played a From Software game before, and I love Sekiro. It's an absolute joy to play.

Yes, it's hard. But that's a good thing. It replicates the feeling of clashing swords, of master warriors locked in a dance of combat with one another. It's hard, yes, but that makes the euphoric rush of overcoming, that much better.

10/10; I'd happily pay double.

This is a game about you beating the snot out of a monster 15 times your size with an axe as long as your own body. Every single monster you face is capable of tearing you apart with a couple good hits. Half the time, they do. Half the time, through sheer skill, luck and preparing health potions in advance, you manage to dodge every blow and bash some dragon's brains in. The game makes you feel like an absolute badass every time you manage to pull that off.

Learning to fight in Monster Hunter: World is like learning to ride a bike. At first you try and you fail. Then, you try some more. You wobble and fall again. But you keep going - because there, just out of reach, you can feel what you think it would be like to succeed. That feeling - of success just beyond the tips of your sneakers - is what keeps you going. It's frustrating, but with each scrape on your knee and with each remounting of the bicycle's seat, you get that tiny little bit closer to achieving your goal. You haul yourself up the mountain of mastery by your own blood and tears, and each millimetre of distance gained is a joy in itself - until finally, you manage to ride the bike in a straight line for a full minute without falling off, and the feeling is euphoric.

The combat of Monster Hunter: World feels the same way. The first time you pick up the hammer, you'll miss strikes. You'll lock yourself into a combo that's a bit longer than you anticipated, and get hit by a charging monster while your character slashes empty air. You'll suck, and you'll know it. But with each failure, you learn a little more about how your weapon of choice works. That thought of what success will feel like, will lie tantalizingly at the tip of your fingertips. It's the pursuit of that success, of that mastery, that will keep you coming back. Eventually, you'll be pulling off those same combos as before, with the right timing. You'll animation cancel when you see the monster begin to charge. You'll land blow after blow upon its head, tail and wings and slide elusively under its claws to emerge on the other side. It's a beautiful feeling every time you land a combo you know you would have fluffed 10 hours ago. You'll haul your way up the mountain of mastery by your own frustration and determination, and each millimetre of distance gained is a joy in itself - until finally, you manage to ride a chain of blows and dodges for a full minute without falling off, and the feeling is euphoric.

The monster design is phenomenal. Each feels alive and animalistic. The maps are gorgeous. Each feels real, and polished. The whole game is like that too. This game has made me a Monster Hunter fan (I've never played a MH game before) and a firm believer in Capcom. You should give it a shot.
