I truly love this game and think it does factories super interestingly.

But paid DLC on an early access game is just not acceptable. Fix it, and i'll fix my review. Cannot recommend.

This is a fast paced and wild isometric dungeon crawling rogue lite. It's slick, pretty, controls well and has a good learning curve that leads to a satisfying gameplay loop.

I highly recommend this whether it's on sale, or full price. I haven't bought any of the additional support DLC nor have I felt the need to, as the base game provides a lot of content in my opinion.

Amazing. Simply amazing.

Maybe i'm lucky, maybe I just haven't seen the game breaking flaws other people have, but this is hands down the best Batman game of all time, and an excellent open world exploration game all around. It's beautiful, I'm running it on a intel 4690k at 3.5 GHz, and a Nvidia 680 GTX, getting about 40-50 frames most of the time, some bad frame drops down to 30, but overall, it's okay. Not only that, it's only running on low, with normal textures and normal "level of detail" settings on. Everything else is "Low" and it's still the best looking batman game.

Now, as far as how it plays. I'll break it down.

The combat? Best the series has ever had, fast responsive, smooth, fixed many of the complaints of the earlier games, a lot more depth to it, and a lot more moves.

The "Predator" mode? Pretty good, so far, about 8 hours in, there's not a lot of closed room environments and they're mostly out door environments which gives batman alot more freedom.

The free roam? Okay, so I've read a lot of peoples thoughts about this, but these are my thoughts, and I don't care what other people think as far as my enjoyment of the game goes. For me, the Batmobile, is down right amazing. It handles like a tank, but once you get used to the "Battle" mode versus the "Car" mode, it's awesome, the vehicle is versatile, incredible, can be called into any free roam fist fight, allows for excellent dealing of enemies through a combo point use essentially. It's great for getting around, flat out. Then it can also launch you so high in the sky that you get to use the games other amazing quality.

Batman has always been good at flying in the Arkham series, but now, Batman is more akin to Manbat than Batman, swooping, diving, rising, soaring, you can easily traverse the landscape of Gotham from the skies without needing to even bother with your Batmobile, but why would you? The BEST thing is? They work in tandem. I often find myself firing myself out of the seat, flying high, soaring over some buildings, getting a lay of the land and swooping back down, calling in my Batmobile, and entering right into the seat blasting off at hypersonic speeds into a tank battle.

Now for the actual "Battle" segements of the Batmobile gameplay. I can get why many people don't like it. I can see how it's going to wear on some people. But, maybe i'm a huge fanboy and feel free to call me one, I am an unabashed Batman fanboy, but, to get back to my point, but, it's an interesting and enjoyable experience.

It's a very hair trigger sort of mini game. Aiming, dodge, strafing, firing. It feels very much like elements of Bloodborne's(Or more accurately the Armored Core series) of rapid movement. You just want to go there, then you're there, and then you're taking a shot, and a vehicle is exploding because you hit it's turret. It's brilliant. Flashy, fast, and tense. It's not easy. I'm playing the game on Hard for my first playthrough and it's got some serious moments of "♥♥♥♥ batton down the hatches".

Overall, I recommend this game to any Batman fans, any fans of open exploration games, any fans of tank and vehicular combat that want something a bit different, people who enjoy some good brawling. Really, if you like those things together, it's great.

And then you can enjoy a relatively cheesey, and enjoyable Batman story.

Have you played this game? If not, then you need to. Ridiculous. Bloody. Gory. Hilarious. Smart? Who honestly thought this could be a smart game? Probably no one but it is. This is a smart game. Yeah, I can put a cat on the end of my gun and use it as a silencer, but it's a smart game. It makes fun of an incredibly paranoid and ridiculous period in history. The early 2000's. And it does it with so much gusto that you just have to love it's over the top take on it all.

This game could easily get several essays written about it from several totally different points of view. I think that speaks volumes about it, now quit reading things, buy this game, and go buy some milk at the store and find out you have a harem of women hidden behind a wall. Do it.
