US Bureau of Justice Statistics show that guns are the safest and most effective means of defense. Using a gun for protection results in fewer injuries to the defender than using any other means of defense and is safer than not resisting at all. The myth that "guns are only used for killing and the myth that "guns are dangerous when used for protection melt when exposed to scientific examination and data. The myths persist because they are repeated so frequently and dogmatically that few think to question the myths by examining the mountains of data available.

California has been studied and we discover that the counties that have the lowest rates of concealed weapon licensees have the highest rates of murder and the counties with the highest rates of concealed license issuance have the lowest rates of murder.

Students for Concealed Carry on Campus is a national, non-partisan, grassroots organization comprised of over 25,000 college students, college faculty members, parents of college students, and concerned citizens (about 90% college students and 10% faculty, parents, and concerned citizens) who support the right of concealed handgun license holders to carry concealed handguns on college campuses.

In the wake of recent school shootings, such as the massacre at Virginia Tech, SCCC contends it is now abundantly clear that “gun free zones” serve to disarm only those law-abiding citizens who might be able to mitigate such tragedies.

Both the membership and the leadership of SCCC are made up of individuals with very diverse political backgrounds. Among SCCC’s organizers you'll find at least one conservative Republican, at least one liberal Democrat, and at least one moderate Independent.

The California Outdoor Heritage Alliance (COHA) is a 501 (c) 4 nonprofit organization that promotes wildlife conservation and is dedicated to the preservation of our outdoor heritage. It was founded in 2006 by the California Waterfowl Association (CWA) in response to increasing political threats to hunting and science-based wildlife management in California. COHA enhances the hunting community's political advocacy capability at all governmental levels and serves as an umbrella under which diverse outdoor interests can mobilize.

COHA accomplishes its mission through direct lobbying, legal research and political fundraising. Key issues include, but are not limited to, protecting and enhancing wildlife habitat, increasing hunter access to public lands, protecting the use of dogs in hunting, ensuring appropriate use of hunter-generated monies, ensuring biologically-based seasons and bag limits, maintaining appropriate wildlife management tools and increasing hunter opportunity.
