Pro's:
-Succinct tutorial doesn't overstay its welcome
-Combat never lets up its pace
-Swarms of enemies
-Exciting boss-fights
-Plenty of secrets - akin to the original Doom and Quake titles
-Good movement
-Super varied maps and arenas
-Simple music that helps you keep the tempo needed to survive
-The 32bit visual style makes it seem more gore-y
- BATHE IN THE BLOOD OF THE DAMNED

Con's:
-Early access; currently VERY short game if you're used to fast-paced FPS.
-Replaying earlier levels with the later guns makes them a complete joke. Kinda wish older levels capped you to the guns you had then (or at least had the option to).
-Excessive gore may be a turn-off to some, even though I loved it.
-Gabriel. Don't know who that is? good.

Verdict:
Easiest 9/10 I've ever played. The game opens with you booting up, and its very clear what you're there to do. Other than it being very short (which isn't the games fault), it's a non-stop gore fest, where my adrenaline has never spiked higher.

Mankind is dead.
Blood is fuel.
Hell is full.

A good game at heart, but I doubt it'll ever get fixed properly.

This game has genuine potential to be great, but its baked to its core with some really bad ideas.

The gunplay and inter-activity with the world being the main ones. Gunplay is straight garbage with melee being even worse. Dialogue options you make don't matter at all UNLESS made in the main missions, where they matter tremendously - which is disorienting.

I want to see CDPR get this game to the amazing product it could be, but at this point they'd have to rebuild the entire core gameplay loop to even start doing this. Because right now, this feels like an early-beta tech demo... If you have faith in CDPR, at least buy it on special. Right now in its current state I don't think its even worth $30...

(I feel that this should be said first: the game is short. 6-8 hours if you don't hunt for the lore/swords, but about 8-10 if you do.)

TL;DR: Games ♥♥♥♥♥♥ good. Buy it nerd >.>

This game is an absolute beast. Right from the get-go there is little to no hand-holding. You wake up, un-sheath your sword and get to work. The pace never lets up, with each level being a healthy escalation over the last (save for Tom - and if you don't know who Tom is. that's a good thing :D). Going from the basic single shot pistol units to melee chargers, full-auto units and enemy samurai, the game constantly keeps you on your toes.

However, the game does use a very arcade-feeling respawning system. You kill enemies in one shot, but they can do the same to you. You die, and can respawn instantly. Now I know some people won't like how easily you die, but you're given more than enough tools to persevere. To steal some Dark Souls parlance: Die, die and die again.

Now on to the more tactile gameplay elements. You're fast as ♥♥♥♥. Mobile as ♥♥♥♥. You can take levels slower if you feel, but the game doesn't stop you from flooring it to the end. You can play slow and methodical, or blitz a level and either way its still fun. There is an upgrade system present, and it takes the form of a grid with Tetris blocks representing your upgrades. A bit niche sure, but it's also smart - by the time you're nearing the final levels, you aren't broken OP with a million skills to use at your whim. You need to think about how you fit the pieces together to most optimally suit your playstyle.

Lastly - the music. Holy **** this OST might be one of the best in recent memory. Hell I'd put it right alongside Doom 2016 its so bloody good. I salute you Daniel Deluxe! Given the games cyberpunk aesthetic, the game features a synthwave/techno OST, and this can turn some people away because these genres tend to sound same-y when you listen to a lot of it in succession. Not here. Daniel produced a great, energetic soundtrack where each track - despite maybe using some similar notes - sounds wholly unique and vibrant. His sound brings so much life to the post-apocalyptic world you traverse.

In conclusion: this game met my expectations and surpassed them with ease. I initially played the demo out of curiosity, and even on the demo my lower-end mid-range rig could play it on max settings with a buttery smooth FPS from start to finish. I suppose the largest complaints I would have is that the bosses kinda come out of nowhere and the learning curve is STEEP when you start.

But it's bloody worth it!

Some of the negative review bombs here are ♥♥♥♥♥♥' stupid.
You CANNOT compare SK to Forsaken. The reason Forsaken feels like it was so much better, was because D2 was in such an atrocious place that Forsaken was basically a bunch a hotfixes packages with some new guns. But given how bad D2 was then, it revitalised the game entirely.

SK did not need to fix Destiny. It did not need to undo more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ - seeing as Forsaken already did that. And this whole "recycled content" arguement - how else were they supposed to bring the moon back? SK brought cross-saves, armour 2.0 and revamped the modding system - something we'd been asking for PRE-Forsaken but no-one talks about that. "We want more PVE stuff, not PVP maps and trials" The last 3 seasons have been NOTHING but PVE-excluse content - PVP needed something new...

TL;DR -
Pros:
-Energetic combat
-Comically daft writing
-Cyborg ninjas
-Memes

Cons:
-Essentially no tutorial. The 'tutorial' you play barely explains anything, and what little it does cover doesn't help.
-Unintuative inital key setup (Maybe you hack-'n-slash vets might be used to it, but the key combos gave me carpeltunnel after a while before changing them)

Actual Review:
This game is simply fun. Not because of the cyborg ninja fantasy-fulfillment, but because after you get a grip on the movement, you're free to slice anything into lunchmeat. It's fast, engaging and consistent. The characters are relatable because of the self-awareness of the 'seriousness' about an incoming war. There is very little of a character arc from our protagonist - Raiden - and thats OK. A game based entirely about slashing robots, cyborgs and politicians definitely isn't for those looking for deep takes into the human consciousness. Some NPC's try to bring up the humanity - or lack there of - when murdering countless enemies. Raiden never really cares, and neither do you. That's not what this game is about.

However, this game suffers from one major shortcoming. Major enough to halt any progress and enrage most, myself included at one point. Up until you fight Blade Wolf (pretty edgey, literally), you never really need to parry. The 'grunt' enemies basically drop dead upon you lovetapping them. BUT, once you meet BW, you will just get ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Over and over. Then you remember: "Isn't there a parry move?". "Yes, there is" says the ingame tutorial "aim in the direction of the enemy and attack in order to parry them"

Yes, it is that vague.

What ISN'T said about the parry, is this:
1. You can't move and parry
2. Enemy must be on-screen to be parried
3. 'Red' glowing attacks can't be parried
4. You don't just 'attack' to parry.

What you really have to do (with a keyboard at least) is:
Tap W+M1 while facing the enemy. As long as nothing else attacks you, you'll remain in the parry position until the attack is parried. Better learn to tap those 2 together pretty fast, because not long after BW, bosses become 'parry-spam' land.

Now: I've got nothing against a skill ceiling. Learning to parry was super fun, but getting murdered by BW over and over really wasn't. I like that the parry takes practice to master - as it should be - but the tutorial leaves so much to guess that you end up wasting time dying against reasonably easy enemies because you just don't know how to do anything properly

That said: once you do learn to parry, every other mechanic becomes easier to learn and comes naturally.

For potential new players, do yourself a favour: practice parrying against grunts until you can parry 2-3 of them at once and not get hit. At that point - in my opinion - the tutorial is actually over.

I still can't get over this game. It literally sums up video gaming in its entirety. Its a beautiful nod to games gone by, and pays homage to them. I deeply respect Yacht Club games for creating this absolte gem of a game. This is a must-have for platformers, old-schoolers and those unique few who beleive games are more than pretty images on a screen. Those who beleive gaming is in the details. Gaming at its truest form. This game....... Simply put......Delivers.

20/20
Absolutely beautiful.

Rebirth is the final nail in the coffin. It seals the deal in terms of rogue-likes. The original was nice, but this is just better, mainly because it wasn't written in Flash. With a better visual style, more enemies, more items, it is just more fun. More than worth the $15. Buy this as soon as you can. The weird learning curve (key bindings) is quickly dealt with, and the fun doesn't stop...

I loved this game from the very moment the Demo kicked my butt a couple million times over. Makes Super Hexagon look like childs play.

Pros:
Fun
Hard
A good prank on friends

Cons:
Buggy (Cube disappears, stick to walls)

Team Fortress 2 is definitely my favourite game, making Super Hexagon the second. From the moment I attempted my first game of Dustbowl, I knew this was the game for me to play in the long run. Its simple, fast-paced gameplay means you enjoy every moment of it. Also, having NINE classes to choose from, means there's always a game-style for you. The utterly brilliant maps to play on, the really awesome servers hosted worldwide, and the special items available for this game, make it a game really worth playing. Also being one of the nicest FREE games available on Steam, makes it the bargain to have. Get this game as soon as you can, you won't regret it!
