Excellent souls-like, definitely worth playing!

An extremely good visual novel that has it all:
- A memorable cast of characters that i got very attached to
- An amazing OST (i still listen to some of its songs even a year later and I don’t see myself removing them from my playlists anytime soon)
- A fantastic story that both surprised me and took me on a rollercoaster of emotions during each route

Easily made it into my top 3 visual novels, i definitely recommend it not only for my previous points but also because the slice of life and comedy elements never made it feel dull at all, the characters were a joy to be around!
Plus i had a ton of fun with the minigame sections (the pixel art animations were lovely!), not to mention picking different choices during the common route and seeing all the different amusing outcomes (you'll find many of those choices to pick from and, more often than not, they aren't there to lock you into a route, but just for fun)

Excellent Start to an Iconic Visual Novel Series

This title includes two arcs: Extra and Unlimited. Extra is a lighthearted and cheerful slice-of-life story with romantic elements, while Unlimited shifts the tone to a much more serious one, featuring mecha and a military context while still retaining the romance factor
You'll come to really appreciate the main cast as you progress through the story

Alternative (sold separately) is the direct sequel to Unlimited and is overall considered the best of the three arcs, you can see the first two as an enjoyable introduction to the wild ride that the Alternative arc is

A PTSD-inducing masterpiece, i wholeheartedly recommend it

Make sure to check out the Muv-Luv Extra and Unlimited arcs first if you haven't already, both of which are included in Muv-Luv (マブラヴ) on Steam
As far as i'm aware, Photonflowers, photonmelodies, and The Day After (each one sold separately) are mainly side stories and can be played in any order after the main trilogy, so after Alternative
If needed, you can easily find info online about the general play order that also goes over the recommended routes (useful if you don't plan on seeing every single one or have doubts about the dialogue choices)

Absolutely amazing, this alone helped rekindle my love for videogames
