To be straight to the point, Portal: Revolution is not a challenging experience, in both comparisons to Portal 2 and its wide collection of mods, most puzzles are solved by reaching the end, and then doing it again but with a cube, this coupled with lots of walking through big rooms without portal navigation slows the excitement of Portal: Revolution to a halt.

There are new and interesting mechanics, that get very little time to shine and are sidelined as soon as new mechanics are introduced (some occasions they are blended). All of which do not make it to the best level in the game, the final boss fight, which fails to bring back any of the learned skills from previous levels.

Portal: Revolution includes a complete story, that draws major inspirations from it's original counter part, but emotional and comedic moments fail to recognise what made the original feel great, making the fall short.

Overall Portal: Revolution feels more like a tech or student demo that highlights the talented ability of programmers and artists, but falls just short on the overall game design.

A game that deserves the attention it has got, with its fluid gun play and mechanics that reward players for putting in effort to improve + the feeling when you get your first chicken dinner!
