We broke God's law, the 10 commandments. Jesus Christ paid the fine in full on the cross. We must trust in Christ to pay for our sins and take our place when God judges us then we must repent, meaning turn from our sins and turn towards God. We do this and He will grant us a new heart with new desires where we will desire holiness and thirst for righteousness (This is being born again). Jesus Christ was God manifest in the flesh. He lived a sinless life.
