Well I'm 60 hours in, and despite a few things, I'm loving it. As a No Man's Sky and Star Citizen fan, who has played both to their limits, I feel I have a good grasp on what makes a space game good, and Starfield hits all the right spots!

NO REAL SPOILERS BELOW SO READ ON SPACE TRECKERS!

The generated planets look and feel more vibrant and interesting than Star Citizens, and there's 990 more of them. The generated points of interest can get a bit samey after your 15th planet exploration, but by that point, your more interested in high value deposits and gasses for your next new Outpost location, and you already have some decent gear, so exploration for loot isn't your reason to travel. You can fully access, upgrade and stylise your ships, rather than hoping for an S Class that looks cool in No Mans Sky or getting portal addresses for places people tell you to go in a Reddit thread. I've spent at least 3 hours just upgrading a ship I found into the perfect fighter/cargo hauler. It's called Night Blade, and I love it!

The stories and plots, as well as the characters, are vibrant, interesting, and I'm actually reading it all thoroughly so I make the best choices for the character I'm playing. It can be VERY confusing though, as you'll pick up new quests all the time just by walking past NPCs having a conversation. My recommendation would be to get to grips with one area, complete activities and missions in that area, then come back before exploring other planets or sites of interest. This will save you having like 50 new quests active and ready to roll, when you're only 7 hours into the game! It also means you'll build up creds a bit faster, as they can pay only 2/3k early game.

Are there bugs? Yeah, of course, what game hasn't got bugs? Do they make the game unplayable and painful? No! Full disclosure here, I am playing on a very decent PC with a 4080ti, very good SSD, 32GB DDR5 Ram and a 13th gen processor. I imagine if you're playing this on a less adept system, you will see groans in performance, shadowing, dexterity, lighting etc. But that's just life right, you get what you pay for, and the same goes for gaming performance.

The characters and NPCs do 'stare into your soul', and I agree with many comments, they can look like cracked out ventriloquist hand puppets on occasion, but you know what, I kinda dig it! :) I've been wracking my brains about how it could be improved, but for the sheer number of NPCs and their daily routines and actions, I think Bethesda has done a 8/10 job on the characters.

Next big thing, inventory space! Get ready to be encumbered! I'm a greedy goblin, I took EVERYTHING I could early game, spending countless hours in inventory screens, moving items and slow walking. This just makes you understand every items value, both in creds, and aesthetics for your base of operations. Once you've delved into decorating your dream home, or saved up enough creds for your city apartment, you'll lose yourself in this aspect of the game. 10/10. Couple bugs though with item placement that I hope will be ironed out in some future patch.

All in all, I'm not a Bethesda fanboy, don't have time for any of that crap, I simply see games for what they offer me, and this game offers me real exploration, outpost building, home base building, interesting stories, some cool weapons (although melee is a bit of a let down) and much, much more.

My score, 8/10. Nice comeback Bethesda!

As someone completely new to these types of Isometric games, as well as MMOs in general, hopefully I can provide a glimmer of unbiased and fresh views on V Rising.

First things first, I'm a solo player. Whilst it would be great to coordinate with team members and jump on with other people, I much prefer randomly playing and doing my own thing. V Rising excels at this. There is a very smooth and natural progression to the game play, taking you through crafting and gear renewal as well as introducing you to blood, bosses, map areas and so on.

The game never rushes you to do this, that and the other, instead if offers mild hand holding then unleashes you to the world, allowing you to go about things at your own pace. I would suggest playing a PvE map to begin with, before heading into PvP maps. There is a stark contrast between the game play mechanics (and survival mechanics) between the two.

In PvE you can still encounter players and team up in voice chat. without the risk of them slaughtering you and attempting to raid your castle.

My only downside for the game would be the typical grind or repetitive tasks that you have to do. I spend a significant time in my castle crafting or travelling horse back across the map to get rarer materials. Whilst this is OK the first few hours, it can be a bit frustrating having to wait so long for some of the crafting times.

Caves are often blocked off by players and teleporting won't work if you're carrying resources. I feel like the Developers could change these mechanics a little, to allow faster crafting and less time travelling the map. Maybe have a 30% resource cost when using a teleporter, or make crafting times faster when the blood in your castle is 90% up full.

All in all, a VERY polished and highly entertaining game for a mere £15 paid. It's definitely a much better game if you have 1-3 friends to play with, but for me, it hits the spot!

So long as the Developers bring out chunky expansions, quest updates and new weapons, armour and skills (at least quarterly), I can see this as being a go-to game throughout the year. Probably replacing my tendency to start afresh in StarDew Valley. :)

Well done on a great game, can't wait to see what's next in the story of V Rising.

After lots of hype, YouTube videos and meme after meme, I decided to purchase PUBG a few months back.

Since then I've come to both love and hate the environment sorrounding PUBG. The game itself is extremely well thought out, exceptional graphics, very smooth gameplay with very little bugs to experience.

There's been occassions where things can be a bit glitchy, but these tend to sorround non frequent lag etc rather than the build of the game itself.

I've been able to play in squad matches with random people and build good gaming friendships with decent, funny players around the world.

You do come across some pretty strange and rude players, but that's just life and no fault of the game itself.

If you love TPP or FPP shooters, this game is a must have!
