Lords of the Fallen is a very, very solid Souls-like, I have always had an attitude that said only From Software had what it takes to make a Souls-like that are good and actually felt like a Souls game (makes sense since they made Dark Souls) but LOTF from start to finish really felt like a love-letter to the Souls games, if it wasn't lacking that From Software polish and a few other minor things, this game could feel 1:1.

The gameplay and build creation just feel 1:1 Souls, by the time I had beaten the prologue it felt like I had already played this game before, as I have over 2000+ hours spent across the Souls series and to me this is a compliment. This game isn't just a copy of Dark Souls though, it does bring enough to the table to make it feel like Lords of the Fallen as well. The big thing they introduce is the Umbral Dimension mechanic, which changes the map/level design with secrets that can only be obtained in this mechanic. This is very cool, but aside from the minor debuffs of being in Umbral, there really isn't a reason to not be in Umbral 80% of the time so you don't miss these Umbral Dimension exclusive secrets; Which is bad because every area gets the same colour palette in the Umbral Dimension which makes them blend together, I hope Lords of the Fallen 2 adds some non-Umbral exclusive secrets as in LOTF as it stands, there is just "Secrets" and then "Umbral Secrets."

The game overall feels like a great attempt at a Souls-like, so why the current 6/10 rating? Well 6/10 means it's above average and there is absolutely more things I like about this game than dislike, but to quickfire some issues with this game, it has very low enemy variety, 60%/25%/15% of the bosses are simply average/terrible/amazing, baffling design/balance choices (i.e can't use Status Cures when being invaded, which meant the Invader just camped in his own poison mist the entire invasion and I couldn't do anything), terrible performance and simply just overall a lack of polish that From Software tends to have. The OST is not as memorable as the Souls games, I encountered a sizeable amount of bugs despite it being 3 years after this game's release and overall this game didn't entirely blow me away in anything.

Already beat the Souls games and need another game to satisfy that craving? This game will absolutely suffice. I can see the vision with this game and hopefully LOTF2 takes this series beyond (unless it releases as an Epic exclusive lol.)

One of the most fun extraction games I have played and I hope this game continues to get steady updates and content. I've played over 2k hours of Dark and Darker, 400 hours of Tarkov, plus some other extraction games like Hunt Showdown, Dungeonborne and Grayzone Warfare, and ARC Raiders after 30 hours is already easily top 2.

I tried Persona 5 a long time ago on console and it didn't click with me so I kinda shelved the Persona series for a few years until I saw this game for really cheap and a friend said I should get it. I am really glad I did.

The Persona system is probably one of my favourite turn-based RPG systems in a game since the Materia system in Final Fantasy VII. The combat is fun and it basically allows you to fuse your own Personas, which you can think of as fusing your own "Pokemon" and it allows you to carry over skills to the fusion result. The characters are also incredibly charming and the murder mystery behind the game is great too.

Just absolute peak. I only played Chapter 1 back when it first came out and decided to play from the very beginning now that 3+4 were out. All chapters are great but if Chapters 5, 6 and 7 keep the same quality as Chapter 4 then we are eating astronomically good.

Great potential and fun with friends, the illusion of there being lots to do lasts for a while but you realise you end up doing the same thing over and over past a certain point, with updates this game could become something incredible.
