Please do not believe this game is a good game. Honestly, it has so many genuine issues. There are horrible optimization problems with Unreal Engine 5 the game constantly lags, freezes, and crashes, and the devs have not properly fixed any of this since launch. I’ve experienced disconnect issues countless times because the servers are unstable and rarely fixed properly.

There is blatant favoritism toward poke heroes who have insane survivability, CC, and stuns, which makes melee or dive characters completely non-viable. You can’t get close to kill them because you’re already dead, and on top of that, there’s no proper damage falloff at short range for these characters. Dive heroes are always nerfed because of favoritism toward supports, who are overpowered and poorly balanced. Tanks get mediocre support most of the time, except for clear favoritism toward Groot, Emma Frost, and Magneto. There is a character the devs consistently ignore a.k.a Blade, who has been bad for a long time with no real attention or meaningful buffs.

The game also massively favors the DPS player base. Most of my matches end up with triple-DPS comps, and players are unwilling to play tank roles. There is no role lock system and no disadvantages for having more than two characters in the same role. This creates constant frustration because the players who lock DPS are often throwers or flamers, and they keep being negative and toxic. I’ve reported many of them multiple times, but no real action is taken.

The matchmaking system is also terrible. It has been reported by the community many times and completely ignored. There is constant denial of EOMM, including by the dev Zhiyong, who is responsible for balance. Matchmaking constantly puts throwers and smurfs on both sides, creating heavily one-sided matches where one team suffers the entire game. I’ve reported throwers and smurfs repeatedly, but most of the time no action is taken maybe once or twice, but that’s nothing compared to how often it happens. This is why people say the devs don’t care about the community’s outrage over matchmaking and honestly that is absolutely true. This has been happening since Season 0. I took a break and came back to season 6 and boom nothing has changed.

Fix the game. Take accountability. Listen to the community.
If this continues, people will permanently leave, and the game will rot and die.

Shoutout to the community members who genuinely want this game to thrive but it’s up to the devs to actually care enough to make real changes to the game and no one cares about the free cosmetics or events tbh if the game is in a good balance because that is what makes people stay loyal and stick around to keep playing the game not these outliers.

I will never recommend anyone to play or stick with Marvel Rivals, except for people who just want to casually try Marvel characters and nothing more.
