My favourite Survival Horror games 2024 :
1. Resident Evil 4 ( Original and Remake) - Piece de resistance of Resident Evil, I grew up with this game.
2. Silent Hill 2 (Original and Remake) - Magnum opus of survival horror storytelling, I'll never forget how surreal it was first time playing it
3. Signalis - Perfect game for hardcore survival horror fans
4. SOMA - Super underrated
6. Fatal Frame 2 : crimson butterfly - Use camera, shoot, kill ghost
5. Resident Evil 2 ( Original and Remake) / Resident Evil 7 (Tied)
7. Dead Space Remake - The remake of the original really makes it shine as a horror game
8. Outlast 1 and Amnesia :TDD (Tied) - The pioneers of run-hide horror games, both still hold up to this day.

Honourable mention:
The Last Of Us - Not a horror game , but an unforgettable story-driven masterpiece
Visage - Effective scare factor, good execution of horror
Haunting ground - Hide-chase mechanic reminiscent of Outlast, but with classic
survival horror style of gameplay. loved it

The Resident Evil mainline series ranking (Original games) :

1. Resident Evil 4 (The unequivocal masterpiece for me, perfect pacing and game design)
2. Resident Evil 2 (The OG but better, I freaking love this game)
3. Resident Evil 1 (The OG, can't miss this one)
4. Resident Evil 9/Requiem (A love letter to the series, both horror and action are excellent)
5. Resident Evil 7 (Dark horse candidate, I love how gritty and scary it is)
6. Resident Evil 3 (Raccoon City was a blast exploring)
7. Resident Evil : Code Veronica (Game is severely bogged down by bad game design, if properly remade it could easily be my top 3)
8. Resident Evil 8/Village (A game with potential but not realised due to too many branching paths, would've preferred if they stuck to 1 theme or focus on streamlining the experience)
9. Resident Evil 5 (Had a great time playing with my brother)
10. Resident Evil 0 (Frustratingly annoying, great visuals tho)
11. Resident Evil 6 (By far the worst Resident Evil game, but severely underrated for how fun it is)

The definitive Silent Hill (Team Silent Era) tier list (personal opinion ofc) :
S - SH2(Has been remade), SH3
A - SH1, SH4
In short, they're all good games.

"Western" era - Origins (Good), Homecoming (Bad), Shattered Memories (Didn't finish the game, but it didnt feel like Silent Hill either), Downpour (Didnt play it)
