The Far Cry Series has been to numerous places and has had numerous villians. Far Cry 5 takes place in the United States however, which is something that doesnt feel right considering that every other game has been in a foreign country. However, don't let the setting bother you. The game does a fine job of recreating the beautiful setting of Montana. It looks damn gorgeous. For me, having skipped out on Primal, I absolutely enjoyed this game. It, at the center, was a Far Cry game, but improved quite a bit. There is no more radio towers or high points you have to climb to reveal the map. Now the whole goal is to explore Hope County. Although the game gives you the option to fast travel from outpost to outpost, I found myself driving and flying to each objective. I never once fast traveled, and it led to a lot of confrontations. Many people may not like having enemies drive around every corner, but I for one love the chaos that follows. It can be a quick bullet to an enemy patroller or it can be 3-6 minute shootout with endless enemies that come following one after the other. Another great improvement is that, similar to 4, you are able to play coop and this time you can play the entire game, every main mission after the beginning tutorial island. It's always better to play with a friend because of the crazy ♥♥♥♥ you can do. Yes, the game has its fare share of bugs, but instead of being frustrated over them, I was having fun just laughing at them. The amount of things that can occur in Hope County is endless. For me the biggest downside was the very limited character creator. In 5 instead of having a main protagonist with a voice and personality, you are given a choice between Male or Female character and have very light customization options. There is no longer a voice or a personality to the character, not even a name. All you get from your character is a series of grunts. And you may not have a beard either... lame. The clothing options are very limited and hopefully they will add more in the future. The game's story may not be the most enticing in the series, but I found myself taking it semi-seriously until the end, when I actually ended up caring for some of the characters. I would say do not take this game seriously, there is a lot of southern stereotypes, which is part of the humor. The villains are pretty good at their job of being bad, and their motivations are clear. For me they are the second best baddies in the series, with Vaas being the first. Finally the Arcade mode is quite enjoyable and can lead to some enjoyable times. They have the solo and coop from 4 and then they added back the 6v6 CoD type deathmatch back which I believe was in 3. The 6v6 has some flaws, but all in all is fun and most of the time fast paced.

In the end, this game has a lot of things people are going to love or hate. If you have never played a Far Cry and would rather play one that is not repetitive, than Far Cry 5 is the one you should choose. If you are a returning fan, this one may be worth the purchase, but just note that there isnt any major improvements. It is still very much a Far Cry, but with improvements. Having a friend to play alongside you makes the experience all the better.
If I had to give it a score it would be a 9. Like I said, it is still very much a Far Cry, but improved on.

Also if you care that its not political enough then just dont even bother trying it. People shouldnt destroy it because it wasnt political enough, it's video game. Not reality.

What the F*ck Did I just Play

**NOTE THIS REVIEW IS WORTH READING EVEN THOUGH ITS VERY LONG** I havn't beaten the game yet, but I will say this game is one of the greatest games of all time. The story/plot given to you by none other then the creators of other great games such as TF2, Portal/Portal2, Left 4 Dead/Left 4 Dead 2 and Counter Strike is one of the most interesting stories in a game. Valve has the very best way of story telling. Not just that the gameplay is exceptionaly good The AI respond to most everything you do. It was a great game for 2004 and still is today. Now the one thing people still complain about to this day is the "GRAPHICS!!!!!!!!" Listen the graphics arent the most important part of games. I mean think about it almost everyone plays Minecraft a 2010 game yet people don't complain about its graphics. Now another question you may be asking is "Is it worth it to buy HL2 Episode 1 and 2?" My answer is yes. The story in the first game makes you really want to come back again. Which is why its such a great game. Id give this game a very great 10/10. That maybe saying a lot or over reacting. I think its the truth. My last statement of this helpful review is this... This game is endless fun. There is no goal or quest. Its simply just fun. You can create anything even something that was never even invented. Its worth every cent of your money.
