it's tough to review this game, overall it's hard to recommend.

at the core, there's a good basketball game here, but it's just so overloaded with ways to suck money out of you that it's honestly something that should be looked into by some sort of commission.

on a 13900k/4090 system this doesn't run as well as it should. it's just a lazy console port.

if they just erased VC entirely and made certain tasks contribute to points in those tasks that you could spend, it would really be an 8/10.

Would I say this is a great game if you didn't play as a cat?

Probably not, but you do, and it is.

Hilarious

If you haven't picked up and NBA 2K game in a while I'd say it's worth it - it's still the best basketball game available.

As others have mentioned though, the game is burdened by microtransactions and it does sour the experience.

This is best played with friends locally. It takes a little while to get a hang of the controls but it quickly becomes a lot of fun and some hilarious moments will happen. Multiplayer, as an Australian, isn't great as the game slows to a crawl because of the latency issues I assume. Customisation is kinda fun, you can make some goofy looking guys to play with.
