This is from the perspective of somebody who has played too much Smite 1. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt the need to do so here because a lot of the negative reviews in here are genuinely delusional, claiming that Hi-Rez is being far too greedy but I really don't think so. $30 for the ultimate god pack in Smite 1 is still probably the best $30 I've ever spent. There are also a lot of complaints regarding legacy gems and how they're only a 50% discount rather than real currency. It's not like it was a bait and switch or anything, they said what legacy gems did on the website since the very beginning. The graphics are way better than Smite 1, but this comes at a significant performance cost with typical unreal 5 stutter, especially with effects despite the quick precompiling of shaders the game did on first launch. This is unfortunate in fights. Also worth mentioning that way better than Smite 1 graphics is a pretty low bar in 2025. I do really like the built in lane teleporters on the conquest map, but at the same time there is so much farm on the map that it can discourage fighting in general. Even disregarding the messy new ability scaling with strength and intellect, itemization is harder than ever with a worse shop UI than Smite 1. You can only sort items in the store by one stat which leaves you looking at an overwhelming list of icons most of the time. There is no In menu item builder to save personalized stuff like in Smite 1. This game needs some TLC.

So, I'm not one of those people who writes reviews. the only other review I've written was for no mans sky, if I remember right. I bought the legendary edition last week, knowing that I'd get this with it, and since I got legendary edition for less that $10, I figured it'd be a steal for a beautiful remaster of one of my favorite games. But no, all I ended up with was some DLC I didn't have before on pc, and skyrim with some cool lighting effects, AND NONE OF MY MODS. So yeah, GG Bethesda.

Unlike many of the reviews here, I was actually able to get in the game and play. While I did enjoy myself, that is, until I tabbed out and proceeded to lose all my progress because you can't tab back in, would NOT reccomend this game, yet. I'm hoping that it will be updated into a state that it will actually work. I paid a triple A price for a game, I expect it to work. Refund button works great, just in case anyone was wondering.
