Grace sections feel like modernised RE1, Leon sections feel like RE4. I was skeptical about this back and forth but it is a really satisfying gameplay combination.

I am a huge fan of the original. I do like this remake quite a bit, but I really wish they would have gone with a reimagining (similar to RE2, RE4 remake). This game is very much 1:1 in terms of map design, enemy placements, damage output from weapons. It's nice, as a fan, but it's limited because it's still PS2 gameplay design.

Still, a good remake.

This remake is crazy good. I was so skeptical beforehand, thinking the gameplay would be clunky, and the gameplay flow would be worse. But I was wrong, it's on par with the RE remakes in terms of quality. Bloober cooked hard, actual plot twist.

Edit (September 25): Devs have added resolution options to the game, and rebindable controls as well. This was a great addition, now the port is pretty decent.

Quite possibly the best remake ever made.
Which is what I thought RE2 was, that was already amazing.

This is even better.

The gameplay tests your skill constantly, it feels visceral and action packed, while delivering on classic survival horror at times.
The graphics are beautiful and elevate the game.
The characters are great, Leon is hilarious and badass.
The game is expanded so much, there are so many secrets and treasures to find.

I don't even know what more I want. I am completely satisfied and then some.

Shadows of Rose: passable, enemies aren't that interesting to fight but the powers were pretty cool. One section was REALLY creepy. Story was OK, not much substance but a few cool moments and I got emotional a couple of times.

Third person mode: somehow feels a lot jankier than RE2 / 3 remake, but still decent

Mercenaries mode characters: Fun addition, Chris is a lot of fun to play as. I still miss RE4/RE5 mercenaries mode, though. Those felt much more replayable (more enemies to kill, more action)

I'm astounded at how good this game is.

I think this is the best boomer shooter.

Wow. This game is impressively good.

The shooting feels satisfying, the graphics are beautiful, the maps are really well designed and the objective based game modes are great. I think this is a great step forward for this series, it's much better than Verdun.

Get this game.

Can we call this genre garlic-like?

As an avid cowboy game enjoyer, I loved this game to bits. If you're into kind of roleplaying your character a bit, this game is phenomenal. It's so immersive, and since I beat it on PS4 in 2018 I still sometimes come back to rewatch the final part of the game, because it's such a good story.
