[Note: Review added on 21/11/2021 - this is an early access title and is under continued development.]

Whilst the game is in very early stages, there is plenty to do for at least 10-15hrs of gameplay, or significantly more should you enjoy the intercontinental sailing. If you're someone who primarilly sticks to fast-paced games where something is always happening, Sailwind likely isn't for you. Should you be a fan of simulators or slower-paced gameplay, Sailwind boasts a quite interesting take on sailing and trading across islands, and eventually for the more experienced players, journeys between entire continents.
Start off with a small ship and work your way upward, delivering priority shipping around the world whilst navigating using cardinal directions, sextants and the stars - fighting the effects of sleep deprivation, thirst and hunger. Failure to manage one's own needs at sea can only ultimately end in failure - a brutal, but not impossible to manage feature of Sailwind.

TL,DR: A beautiful, simple sailing and trading simulation based on real world physics. Sailing is a slow process - if you're not one for slower-paced games, this may not be for you. Otherwise, a quite interesting sailing game with plenty of potential as features are added.

TL:DR: A brilliant space-faring RPG combat game with a rich storyline and gorgeous graphics which is in a well-developed/advanced state of polish for an early-access title.

For an early access which has only just been released for testing (January 2020), EVERSPACE 2 is a rarity given despite its youth, it is quite a well polished game with pretty much all gameplay mechanics implemented in their entirety.
I've been a fan of this genre, even going back to the days of GALAXY ON FIRE on mobile devices in the 2010s, which was created by FISHLABS, of which ROCKFISH (current developers) are successors of. The original EVERSPACE was a rougue-like with no saves, and whilst it was thorougly enjoyable it certainly left the roleplay element and the accompanying freedoms out, unlike the GoF series.
This iteration of the series, whilst a continuation of the original EVERSPACE plot, grants the player the ultimate freedom of an open world universe where you can be a humble trader, or hired gun and anything in between.
Future additions in the works seem to be storyline polish, customisation of one's vessel amongst much more, so EVERSPACE 2 is certainly one to watch in the coming months.

A truly unique experience where one must seek the intended recipient of letters, resist the urge to open said letters and ultimately, decide whether they shall uphold peace or become a hired gun in the process.
Each action you take can evoke both admiration and hate throughout the lands, so act wisely, Postman.

A truly captivating experience told from the perspectives of both Harry - a young Canadian photographer - and Kurt, a German father.
Harry is largely unaffected by war, working as a photographer in Toronto, Canada far from the Great War in Europe. He is told of the adventures and thrills that await if he enlists - especially that he'll likely win over Julia, the woman of his dreams. He is naive, unaware of the brutal truth that awaits on the Western Front.

Kurt is directly involved in the war effort as an engineer, manufacturing zeppelins in Germany, however his young son Max is sent to war and goes missing in action. Kurt, desperate for answers, undertakes a monumental search across Europe in hopes of finding his son, dead or alive.

The player takes turns playing each character, learning of their backstory and attitudes toward war. Memories Retold beautifully recreates such horrible sites of bloodshed ranging from Vimy Ridge to the infamous River Somme in such intricate detail, especially through the truly unique art style.

It really is a very confronting contrast between the lives of a Canadian photographer and a soldier of the German Republic which is quite heart-wrenching. 11-11 Memories Retold does not hold back to emphasize that war should never, ever be glorified and as we learn through Harry and Kurt, the enemy is often not different from oneself.

The story is not fixed, either - you make decisions as both characters which ultimately impact the way the story unfolds. I'll be replaying this as there are many ways to finish, whether exercising sympathy to those that wronged you, or showing bitter hate.

I strongly suggest getting this intricately-crafted gem, and if not for the story, get it to appreciate the absolute beauty of the art style.

A bloody brilliant gem of a game. It's basically Star Citizen combined with FTL but a heap more action-packed (and can actually be run on max graphics without melting your PC compared to SC!). Further, if you're familiar with the games Galaxy on Fire (on mobile devices), the developers worked on that game, and it is quite obvious many of the concepts have been adapted into this game. GOF2 was my all-time favourite mobile game, and whilst EVERSPACE lacks the in-depth trading and economy I loved in that game, it provides a superior game in effectively every aspect. I'd strongly encourage anyone to get this (for the graphics alone, even!) as it is the perfect game to sink 10 spare minutes into, or dedicate a whole day playing.

VOID BASTARDS: A FUN WAY TO SPEND YOUR SENTENCE

In VB, you play as a convicted fugitive - whether you an arsonist or user of foul language - who, until the pirates attacked and killed the crew of the WCG Void Ark, were in dehydrated form awaiting transport for disposal at a therapy hulk. With the crew dead, you were randomly selected to be rehydrated into living form with the noble goal of restoring the Void Ark to operational condition- only issue is, you're deep in the infamous Sargossa nebula where citizens have taken superhuman states from the radiation.

Void Bastards combines first-person shooters, beautifully drawn textures in the style of comics as well as strategy into a masterpiece where the player must delve into derelict ships, retrieve parts to fix the Void Ark (or craft new gear), and preferably make it back alive. You'll fight numerous enemies, each with different weaknesses and traits with a plethora of weaponry, and you'll die at some point. Don't worry, they'll just rehydrate another 'client'.

Well worth getting.

I'm reviewing this on January 31, 2019 after the initial early-access release.
For what little is in the game, it's already apparent it will be yet another gem as was Subnautica - a well crafted, in-depth and captivating survival experience on Planet 4546B. From what I've gathered thus far, the story is set some time after the previous game where the Khavaa outbreak was quelled due to the survivor's efforts and the properties of Enzyme 42, and Below Zero takes place on the arctic regions of the planet at an Alterra research outpost, which is tasked with unlocking the secrets held within an ancient Almanac structure.

At present, there is not overly much in the game but honestly, even at present, it's worth purchasing now especially if you joined the early access testing and development of the previous game as you can help shape the game, and report bugs to the team at Unknown Worlds, which are super responsive to feedback as we saw in the previous instalment of Subnautica.
The game, as clearly noted by the developers, only contains a few hour's content at present and lacks most of the polish of the current content (although the current level suprised me greatly!) and is rife with bugs (as is expected for an initial release early access - though I haven't come across a single one yet), so don't let reviews criticizing these facts influence your choice. If you loved Subnautica, you'll love Below Zero.

[This review will be revisited as content in the game is added]

It's a short game, but a good one. It's inline with some of my other favourites such as Tacoma, and as such has aspects of a walking simulator, however this has some puzzles which require solving.
Given it's $19AUD full price, I wouldn't bother with that, so if you're looking to purchase it, take advantage of any ongoing sales.

Good enough for me. I just wanted ship models for humanoids which were not the default mamalian-type.
This DLC is purely cosmetic, with a few new voiceovers etc., so if you are looking for gameplay changes, it's probably best you check out the other DLCs available.
