For simply reskinning the Steam client — no, you can't get a VAC ban, but of course you need to be careful about what reskins you use
Hello, I saw your comment in https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/app/730/discussions/0/4352242083123669189/?tscn=1752933586 , it's been locked just after your question by a moderator, so I'm responding here:
No, you can't get a VAC ban for a *mod*. By mod I understand you are directly changing the game's files and NOT running any external .exe files and NOT injecting any .dll files.
Directly changing in-game files means changing files like .vpk, .mdl, .vmt, .vtf, and other such resource type files in the game's folder.
Changing those will simply not allow you to play on official servers and other servers that have sv_pure enabled in the first place, instead of banning you.
Honestly such mods shouldn't require you to set the -allow_third_party_software launch parameter. Are you sure it's not a skin changer cheat? Skin changers have a history of getting their users VAC banned.
Если у меня 1700 часов в тф2 и при этом мне нравятся фурри, я сосунок eбyчий?
Заранее спасибо.
