EDIT 12/2/22 Post-Hot fix. Any connection and crashing issues I've had are gone. Good for me. But the system requirements are still broken for a lot of people, including friends I want to play with. And I'm still keeping it negative on the account of Fatshark lying about 70 weapons at launch, no crafting, and changing their FAQ from "Paid cosmetics you can grind currency for in-game". Since you can't earn aquillas at all, dw they changed their FAQ on launch

This game is great. I can't even begin to praise how much of an improvement this is over VT and SH. In only some departments

MUSIC, ONCE AGAIN, music is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ perfect, loud without overpowering the battle, building up tension and serving as a subtle alert tool for special events (hordes/bosses) you don't really *notice* it in-game, but you'll be feeling those beats after

THE GORE you can literally cut heretics into pieces, or blow their entire upper body off if you have the raw firepower. The first time I took my single barrel shotgun, I expected the enemy to go flying back. Instead, his upper half turned into gory red mist as his legs stood there before slowing tipping over. Absolutely jaw dropping, you can even gore special enemies (though it is harder). Some enemies are so deep in infection their blood becomes pus and maggots, AND THEY DIDN'T slouch there either it is equally as good as the blood.

Alright, so you may be thinking "Well it sounds like the game is great then?" Well, I saved the worst for last mostly to put myself in a positive mood at the start.

Gameplay issues (MOSTLY FIXED AS OF 12/2/22) These are probably the most minor of the bunch. Sometimes enemies can shoot through cover, and if it is a sniper that bugs, you can enjoy your game becoming a standstill or a wipe. The Daemonhost (l4d2 witch equivalent except she can go after multiple people) barely has any warnings and the amount of unwitting players who alert it because the only warning is some whispers that can be drowned out.

Weapon Variety: While each weapon currently in the game is great and lets you build your favorite arsenal, we barely have any, and you are stuck with about 4 when you start the game, going up to 6-8, some of these being variants, such as the ogryn knives having different swing patterns. WORST OF ALL Fatshark promised 70 DIFFERENT WEAPONS between the 4 current classes and has released 0 weapons leaving beta with not a single word. So if you truly want to experience weapon variety, you are going to need to split your leveling between lower level alts of the other 3 classes.

Crafting, or lack thereof. The devs shipped the beta crafting which only lets you upgrade weapons, you can't reroll modifiers, learn new modifiers, YOU can't even scrap found gear for crafting material instead of gold, instead you have to hope you find it while playing through maps and search for little pick ups. You can go through a level 5 difficulty map with 0 drops if you are unlucky, or go through difficulty 1 and get drops every other room.

Cash Shop: 40$ game with an expensive (15$) price tag on skins, on limited timers to buy (FOMO) that they managed to squeeze in. Oh and you can't earn the paid currency in game. And it is designed to be confusing from $ so you'll have a little extra, a little less than what you need. Honestly shocked they didn't add a battlepass. The free cosmetics are minor, color swaps, little things, and the paid cosmetics massively change how your character looks


And worst of all. Performance and connection issues. Enjoy having your performance seemingly dictated by random chance. 1070's reporting stable framerate at medium low, 3080's having the game be unplayable. For myself I have a 1070 and I'm getting straight 60 fps on low, but my friend with a better rig can't even manage to get 15 fps turning things really down? Oh and say your game is stable performance wise?

Well enjoy a server that has been touched by all 4 Chaos Gods (PRAISE THE EMPEROR THE SERVER IS NOW RUNNING MUCH BETTER AS OF 12/2/22). Long time to load into main hub, long time to load into game. And praying you don't disconnect or crash while loading. Oh and sometimes you load too long and you spawn dead/so far from your team you will be soon! Allies crashing midgame, you crash mid game. sometimes everyone dc and the mission restarts or you just get sent back to the main hub! Since the game launched, I haven't managed to play more than 2 games in a row without the game either crashing or disconnecting me, forcing me to sit through 2-3 more load screens just to get back in the action! That can crash or DC as well. Performance and server has only gotten worse since launch, absolutely terrible.

As much good as this tool can be to help people to socialize from across the world, I am putting in a review simply because the banning of mods and using Easy Anti-Cheat is a completely damaging change. It is an already cracked program that bad actors will either push through, or with many of the current issues facing VRC, simply ignore and go around. What it does do however is prevent honest people with accessibility mods. Disabled people often have a hard time socializing outside, and cutting off their accessibility to one of the best solutions is terrible. VRC dev team purposefully ignored mod creators and disabled users and is now pushing out a "Fix" to remove these very helpful mods without a whiff of support or even caring about their player base

The perfect $2.99 game, Old flash game simplicity combined with the polish and fun of that many $20+ games can't even fathom. The only want this game left me with is wanting more, and since this is a small game made by a small team, consider a 3$ investment for an amazing experience.

or just download it cause its f2p and try it.

Buy a time machine and go back to 2012, totally make this game worth it. Btw played alot before I linked with steam, so I know this

A very good nostalgia trip. My first game I played on PS2 and the first game I became MLG pro.
Pro's:
-Epic space Battles, with realistic piloting and ship stats.
-Class based ground combat (4 base classes, 2 unlockable classes) and ship based (4 ships, 2 pilot classes)
-Doing good at this game will unlock bonuses which lead to doing better and more bonuses for the next match
-2-64 players
-Behind the scenes campaign. Shows the story of the 501st, the first clones to betray the Jedi.
-Great for old school gamers.
-Bunch of maps, game play types, and uncannon or indigneous species only matches.
-Playlist lets you play multiple games without going to the menu.

Con's:
-Not great for newer gamers or COD fans.
-ONLINE multiplayer is pretty much a rocket spam match. May be empty now
-Too many bots makes the game very frustrating. Especially on small maps, but big maps need a large amount to feel good
-Bots are brain dead when not on elite difficulty, then they begin to school you on how to play.
-Campaign is %@!&ing hard no matter what difficulty.
-First person view has pretty basic hand/gun animations and graphics even for its age.
-Ground battles become a bore quickly. Space has much better replay value.

P.S. Though I think the con list is longer then the pro list. The cons are pretty minor when you compare it to the time age
P.S.S. I only complained about the graphics that were bad at the time. Of course it looks dated now. (Hypocrite Minecraft fans)
