Ever since the open beta I was itching to play this again and literally fell in love with this game.
Feels great to play and the levels of customisation makes you enjoy mixing and matching to master those fun turns and intense straights, the lap system makes the game always feel fresh with the 2nd lap having a entire different map!
Deffo replaced MK8D for me for a quick kart racer to spin up.
I do wish more of the skins or guest roster spoke/interacted more but that is a minor nitpick.
The price is a little steep but some retailers can get $15-$20 knocked off.

Edit: Despite my personal gripes of nerfing weapons to the ground to the point of having no tools to effectively fight back, I can no longer recommend this game due to forcing account linking with a PSN account.
While it was established it would be re-introduced in the future, I do not see why it is mandatory if I do not desire to cross-play.

Edit Edit: Sony has reverted the choice to force signing in with a PSN account, so I will be reverting it back to a positive review. For Democracy!

Already a negative for me, forcing Epic Games on bootup as well as it was not specified on the store page till after launch.
If you don't want epic on your PC, delete the Epic folder in the game directory then uninstall anything via your PC's settings.

Other than that, the core game is fun, just sullied by Denuvo, Epic services and questionable exclusive DLC skins.

Terrible ultrawide support, cannot have it 2560x1440 since I like to have it central on screen only while I have discord and other apps to the side

forcing any aspect ratio with tools breaks any menus too so

For Real?!
I love seeing the funny pancake boy again and again

Ignoring a player-base with a loose band-aid fix that will only escalate the issues.
