Ranked matchmaking should not exist with this low of a player count. Games are very unbalanced either in your favor or against you (usually against). Teammates will quit easily and also absolutely destroy you in chat for being new or not that great. Thankfully you can disable chat. If the devs want to grow this game, they really need to start putting some effort in. It's a cool concept and has potential.

Where do I even start? Gameplay is great, communication is good and also funny with the proximity chat. Rewarding team/squad play. You don't get severely punished for dying as in other games/milsim games where you have to wait a long time to respawn and also have to run for minutes just to get back into battle and die again. Die in battlebit? No worries, a teammate can get you back up or if you bleed out, the spawn timer and spawn locations gets you right back into action. Even starting the game up, picking a server or quickplay option and getting into a game all in under 2 minutes is refreshing. No waiting for shaders to load for 10+ mins.

Gunfights and environments feel great and flow well. Wall in the way of getting a nice vantage point? No problem! The pickaxe, sledgehammer or RPG will break that wall down. Being able to change the environment around you, both building and destroying adds endless possibility to the same maps. Being able to chose day or night on the map voting is cool as well.

Simple progression is a relief. Having become a more casual player as I've gotten older with more responsibilities, it's nice to have a system that is straight forward with no crazy long tasks to progress your character or weapons. Pretty much Just play and get kills with the weapon you want to progress.

No paywalls, no season/battle passes, just GAME. A lot of developers have lost the oldschool way of making games for people to enjoy. Most AAA titles release unfinished products and then update them as they go or add content for another cost. I hope Battlebit's devs keep releasing content and changes without charging customers as this is a nice change that we all needed with the current directions of big title studios. It's hard to believe this is an early access indie game and plays better than AAA titles. If you play for short while, you'll forget about the low poly count graphics and it will quickly become a favorite.

Great job to the devs for releasing this game and competing with big name AAA studios weeks after launch.

I was unsure if I would like this since it looked like more of an arcade one and done kind of game. Now that I've played through the story once I will say it's worth it. I've played every NHL game since NHL 95 and this is not anything like it... in a good way. It takes some of the seriousness away and turns it into something fun and still challenging at the same time. If you're looking for a new hockey game that is off the normal path, give this a try!
