Great gameplay, great art, great writing, and a great soundtrack!

It takes a ton of stylistic and mechanical inspiration from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Chrono Trigger, and if you enjoy either of those games, I suspect this one will be right up your alley.

Would definitely recommend.

It's a bit difficult at first, but once you get over the fact that it's not a typical twin-stick shooter, it's amazing.

Brigador has a high skill ceiling, and it encourages you to inch yourself up the skill ladder with better payouts for higher difficulting pilots and vehicles. It's easy to stomp through a mission in one of the heavilty armored vehicles, but if you want the real payout, you'll do it in the one that's basically a tricycle with a couple of tiny guns mounted it to it.

The art is also super detailed, and the dynamic lighting looks fantastic.

Rough-around-the-edges mid-90s horror/sci-fi adventure game.

Bad: Annoying MIDI-like soundtrack. Ugly pre-rendered graphics for some aspects. Nowhere near the polish level as its contemporaries from companies like Lucasarts. Annoying, nonsensical puzzles and a seemingly unfinished endgame.

Good: Creepy as hell. Genuinely disturbing. Interesting game world and plot. Adds more details and character to the short story it's based on.

Play this if you want to experience an artifact of the low-budget mid-90s adventure game genre. Don't expect a polished masterpiece. I'm glad I eventually played through it once, but I probably won't subject myself to it again. Marking as recommended only for those slightly masochistic nostalgic retro-gaming nerds among us.
