the game is still a wee bit rough around the edges, and i wont call it fully polished, but the new content for the game is genuinely creative and fun to play through, the concept in and of itself makes it ridiculously fun to play, the refreshing maps make it endlessly replayable, and the difficulty scaling is also very fun.

Above all else, the developers actually care for the game- i made a post on Bluesky complaining about one of the rougher edges of the game, and made a failsafe suggestion so that this edge could potentially be at least mitigated in future updates. I was surprised to see that landfall responded to my complaint and actually had a dialogue with me about it through the thread. Its VERY rare to see a dev care that much about just making a genuinely good game.

For that reason? 95/100 overall.

The game is amazing, and I would absolutely recommend it. There's a but at the end of this, but let me list the positive aspects first.

1. This story is absolutely lovely, and is one of my favorite takes on a dystopia i've ever seen.
2. Feeding off number one, your story doesn't have a happy ending unless you change your goal. Spoiler warning: If you plan on removing the chip, you lose no matter what you do. If you change your goal to going out with a bang, or taking them down with you? changes everything entirely, now you have win conditions, and concepts of a plan.
3. For all the ♥♥♥♥ the game got on release, it's mostly better now. In my 500 hours of playtime as of writing this, I've only encountered 3 non-visual glitches, and non of them gamebreaking.
4. Cyberware open up the game to a hundred different methods and builds you can play the game with. I wound up usually favoring sandy-stealth, but everyone has their own cup of tea.
5. For a game that isn't even remotely trying to focus on romance in the story, it does it astonishingly well. While relationships develop at record speed, it really feels natural over the course of the game.
6. This is, in my opinion, keanuu reeves' best role. I honestly think that you can't have silverhand without keanuu anymore, that's how good he did.
7. Using the Major Arcana as a moderately heavy-handed symbolism was a unique choice in my opinion, and one executed well. I did a playthrough alongside a friend who knows all that, and they pretty much got the vibes for the characters directly from the tarot that was shown at the character's introduction.

Now, the Negatives.
1. For everything this game cracks up to, it falls short in some areas. It's been said a million times, but the game really wasted the street cred tree. It was like they had an idea, but didn't have the time to implement it, so it kind of just fell flat. Keeping it short- I really feel like this game could benefit from a fallout-nv style reputation system, that could potentially change how you interact with certain gangs, corps, and fixers. Atop this, the Nemesis system would go crazy here, as would just having more dialogue options in general related to build, certain cyberware, and street cred level.
2. I can't say I agree with the decision to keep you stuck in Watson for the entirety of the first act- There were less obvious ways to gate your progress until Jackie croaked. Most of which actually include using the Street Cred system, like putting a cap on how high your legend can go if you stick to just one area, or before you can make a presence in the Afterlife. There are other ways to force the narrative than just gating mechanisms.
3. I really think the story could benefit from more time with Jackie- His death happens so early in the story that it kind of gets sidelined narratively? We don't really get enough time with him to get attached, and it bugs me a bit.
4. Bikes are kind of the only way to go for open-world traversing. Like, the cars just handle terribly, it's like all the tires were triple-waxed.

I give the game an 87/100. The game is fun, it accomplishes everything it tries to do with flying colors and then some, but there are things that very obviously got curbed early on in production that remain in the game regardless that make you think of what could have been. I can't knock it too hard because I'm thinking too much on what could have been, so it still gets a very high rating, only knocking 10 points for wasted potential, and 3 points for functionally unusable car physics.
