In it's current state, I would not recommend this game.

This is due to the fact that as a "Space City Survival Manager" you are so limited by every single game mechanic (and a virtual timer before you either jump or die) that the game has 0 replayablity and you either do the same thing everyone else is doing or you are shooting yourself in the foot.

The research system, whoever came up with that idea, please fire him. I nearly had an aneurysm just trying to understand why anyone would design it like this....

Limited resources, Limited Space, Limited Time, Limited research but a limitless amount of just WHY?!

Game isn't hard, if you are lazy to figure it out a quick google search will give you the best way to layout your base, which researches to focus on and which events to choose. Though I do recommend not spoiling the game so you can fully experience an aneurysm like me.

I hope they add modding else this is a game you play once and you drop.

I was expecting some interesting innovation from the Civ Series, and instead I got a game lacking so much polish it is frustrating.

- Resources Icons on terrain are too small to be readable.

- Building on Hexes are barely distinguishable from each other, making it impossible to understand where to put your next building if you don't just follow the recommendation from the game.

- Army movement is buggy when going through "Rough" terrain or when switching from Sea to Water and vice versa.

- Unit movement during combat is extremely frustrating, it's nearly impossible to understand why 1 unit is able to attack while the other just tells you "can't do that" as high ground mechanic either seems to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ or visual indications are barely noticeable (they should add an icon on units that have high ground).

- I really don't see the point of transcendence... like "here is 10% more victory points" for transcending, while other cultures "here is 20% more useful stuff, a building that could get you to the moon and just because I like you, I will give you a nuke as well".

Last but not least, as this is an Amplitude game, it suffers the same fate as Endless Space 2: "Pending Turn Forever". I'm at turn 234 and just lost my save forever because even loading a previous turn doesn't fix this, notification keep repeating instead of disappearing which makes the game not go to the next turn.

I will start with the TL;DR: Poor optimisation even after patches, "meh" graphics, okay story. get it if you can buy it for a jar of dirt, anything more isn't worth it.

Alright lazy people, you can move along.


First impressions:

1 - I was shocked to see that there were graphical bugs and fps issues for a game that has been out for more than a year. (Tested on a low spec and high spec computers)
2 - The graphics were good but not amazing.
3 - The story is one of those revenge type, the delivery is done quite well however I felt like the characters didn't really matter and they didn't have personalities besides Donavan and the priest. (Lincon was too blank, Burke was a mess of personalities, Vito could be replaced by a mission board.. etc)
4 - Driving felt good but distances for some missions were mind numbing, I kept having accidents due to loss of focus from boredom.
5 - Fighting/Shooting was quite lacking, however it did not ruin the experience.
6 - As the boss of a gang or "mafia" I was expecting a little bit more of managing and ordering and less of running around the damn countries to buy groceries for my underbosses. Very disappointed in this aspect.


Pros:
1 - You get to see the future of the universe of mafia 2.
2 - Story is good and well delivered.
3 - Driving feels nice.
4 - A nice piece of history. (The bad included)


Cons:
1 - Driving during some missions will make you fall asleep.
2 - Stealth handles the same in every mission due to lack of options. Hide in cover, press T, wait, press Q, change cover if necessary and repeat.
3 - The lag, specially while driving actually ruins one of the "pros" of this game.
4 - Graphics were average.
5 - Animations were below average.

I stil haven't finished the game so this review is not the final product, however most of the points that I have shared in this review have been consistent in the game and felt like they wouldn't change even at end game.

The most frustrating strategy game I have ever played ever, not because you can't control your army (that's to be expected from the game description) no no no, this game isn't bad because you get attacked from every possible side (even from within your own city), this game isn't frustrating because its 1vsall.

This piece of ♥♥♥♥ of a "strategy" game only has 1 way to win, good luck finding it out.
Seriously, there are missions that are impossible to do if you don't do it in a specific way and let me tell you something, it's not fun to go to youtube or some other website and copy what others are doing.

This is the most retarded way to make a strategy game.


Edit 1: as Patient Zero said you can mod the game to make it more fair and balanced, however I'm still giving this a negative review because it shouldn't be my job to make the game more balanced.

0.8 hours on record, not of actual gameplay... only ads and loading followed by a crash, after downloading this game 4 times on steam and twice from the nexon launcher and doing 20 troubleshooting steps and sending all the files i was able to provide to the customer service the best "Solution" They were able to provide me with was "Try running as admin"... after 3 weeks and 5 euros wasted, they give me "Try running as admin" ... i'm sure if i kept going they would ask me to try to turn it off and back on...

TL DR : Don't buy this game, first ask someone to familly share it with you and see if you can actually run it. but just be warned that if u ever run into an issue the tech support is Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

No paypal payment method for the subscription made me sad... otherwise the game is great
