A game about soulless entities that should pride itself on the amount of soul it has. From the writing, to the visuals, to the sound design, this game is dripping with character and the passion and love for the project is always on full display. With a dev team of just two people this game is massively impressive, but you won't be thinking of that when you're playing the game. Instead you'll be wracking your brain trying to figure out tons of clever and fun literary puzzles, like riddles, wordles, or playing 20 questions with the amazingly voiced "Cryptmaster," who always gets a laugh out of me.

While I'm trying to sum up my thoughts on this game and why I like it so much, my mind keeps wandering to another game I love - Monkey Island. While tonally and visually distinct from one another, theyre both games with this great sense of humor that's absurdist, clever, and just straight up silly at times, and this wonderful sense of humor pushes you to explore the game in way that I find so much more gratifying than a simple item pickup that pads your stats.

If you're someone who loves literature, brain teasers, funny jokes, independent art, or you're just looking for a breathe of fresh air, "Cryptmaster" delivers.

Brigardor is probably one of the best audio-visual experiences I've ever had. The art is beautiful, the animations are amazingly smooth, and it has maybe the best sprite work I've ever seen in a game. And the music, by god the music. If you have any interest in electronic music do yourself a favor and spend extra for the soundtrack, you really wont regret it. Tying this all together is an extremely fun and "edge of your seat" mech game that's equal parts pants ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and rewarding.

This game not blowing up may have been the biggest sham of 2016, which is really saying something for the year that it came out.
